Use of old immersion heater supply.

Would it be ok to use a 16A supply for the former immersion heater in my airing cupboard (replaced with a combi) for a single oven at 2250W in the kitchen. The airing cupboard in the bathroom backs onto the kitchen. Thanks in advance.

Cutting tap hole in a Franke fragranite sink

Anyone any idea how you cut the tap hole in a sink made of fragranite. It seems similar to the granite type sinks.

Electrics to separate oven and hob.

I'm replacing a cooker that runs off a switched 40amp supply with a separate single oven and ceramic hob. The oven is rated at 2250w and the hob is 6600w. Would it be ok to wire them via separate cables to the 40amp supply or the hob to the 40amp and the oven to a double 13amp socket which is a...

    wood flooring and skirting boards

The question was though, how to do it without removing the skirting boards. Not only that, there's the bottoms of the door frames and arcitraves to cut, It's quite awkward to cut them so near the floor with a handsaw.

    wood flooring and skirting boards

I'm about to lay laminate myself and having the same problem where I don't want to remove the skirting boards. See the tools and materials forum about the Bosch pmf180e.

    Bosch PMF 180E all rounder.

Anyone got one of the Bosch All Rounder tools? I am going to fit some laminate flooring and want to know if it would be powerful enough to take the bottom edge of some skirting boards off so I can slide the laminate underneath? Thanks in anticipation.

    Pipe hammer.

Sorry Softus, wasn't trying to be clever but haven't had much experience with these things, I'll try a new washer etc.

    Pipe hammer.

Thanks again for the replies. I can't really see that it's a worn washer or seat in the fill valve, I only replaced the whole ball cock assembly last year (the hammering has only started recently) There is an isolating valve in the copper pipe supplying the toilet, would it not suffice to turn...

    Pipe hammer.

Thanks for the replies, think I've cured it. Took the fill valve to pieces and removed the plastic restrictor inside and replaced it with a wider one that was attached to the ball cock arm. Seems to have done the trick.

    Pipe hammer.

Flushing my loo results in a loud vibration from the pipework which I'm led to believe is called pipe hammer. Its particularly bad first thing in the morning so I suspect its something to do with the pressure. Is there any way of curing this, any help would be appreciated.

    quadrant shower cubicle

Speaking to a tradesman yesterday, says that a lot are sent back faulty. I e mailed the manufacturers about 3 days ago but have had no reply.

    quadrant shower cubicle

I agree it should be flush with the shower tray but it isn't. No amount of adjustment of the uprights puts the bottom rail flat on the tray. The tray isn't level on it's curved side. After posting this I looked back through this forum to find somebody has had a similar problem but nobody had...

    quadrant shower cubicle

I am fitting an offset quadrant shower cubicle. Both straight sides of the tray are level but the curved part on the top has a gradual slope on it towards the middle. The bottom aluminium rail of the cubicle referred to as the bottom orbit in the instructions doesnt fit flush on to the tray...
