Im due to install one for the first time in about a months time, ive noticed a few people posting saying not very promising things about them? anybody whos installed one got any tips or suggestions of any common problems apart from not to install it as thats not an option.

a merchant should have 10 mm straight rad valves, B&Q even stock em, it would be easier and look better if you used 10mm valves rather than having to stick a reducer on both ends.

ive found it easier to start with a smaller drill bit if its a fairly big plug going into the wall, then change bits and widen the hole.

If both feeds are coming from the tank i wouldn't of thought you would need to use a check valve, unless the preasures were differant, i.e cold direct from mains.

thrmostatic showers arn't cheap and you would still be having the same problem of mains water preasure over the tank water. To get it done properly do what has allready been suggested, equal the preasures. as HG said pump or take a feed of the tank.

the lock sheild valve is usually on the return. the one you can turn is usually on the flow

the washer could of jammed in the seating, or the spindle could have broke. taps the tops of the taps off and re-washer and re-greese, see how you get on, if the washer has come off make sure you get it out of the pipe first.

so you cant bleed the one youve put back on becuase youve lost the air vent? or is this another rad?
