    gas pipe for ch boiler

Worried that they are going to do an incorrect/unsafe installation. Out of the three i've seen, two would of. I only know that because i've found out the regs, gas pipe sizing etc. 1 of them was brilliant and clearly knew his stuff so he will get my job. from all the blurb about, being corgi...

    gas pipe for ch boiler

I agree, from the corgi people i've had in (not all of em) i'm sure they should of been struck off a long time ago. It's worrying that each corgi engineer differs from the other. 1) 15mm gas pipe is fine 2) 15mm is too small, need at least 28mm. What the ****! Makes me very worried and...

    Dropping a Radiator (combi system)

You'll have to add inhibitor into the top rad valve. Some inhibitors come with an adaptor to do this. Fernox? You won't have feed/expansion tanks with a combi so don't worry about that. Your system is a sealed system under pressure, when you lose water you need to top it up at the combi...

Had someone in to quote - advice needed

Well the rain water drain is properly drained not a soakaway and i told him this but he didn't listen. At least the other installer i have coming to quote was more talkative on the phone and generally left me with more confidence. It's worrying.

Had someone in to quote - advice needed

Hi, Just had a corgi engineer to quote, haven't received cost yet but a few things he said worried me. The boiler is going into an out-house and he stated he would run the condensate 4 meters along a step outside into a rain water only drain, hardly any fall and also in 22mm overflow pipe...

    boiler flue........help!!! thanks

Firstly, I am not corgi registered so I may not be right, but common sense says to ring the manufacturer of the boiler and ask them. Then contact a few corgi engineers and see if they are willing to do it. Vaillant may not have a suitable flue, so then it will be a definite no no. Contact...

    Quotations

I'm not saying i'm after an hours education. Just don't want to end up making a mistake. That's all. I give quotes for work i do. Sometimes over the phone and sometimes visits. I don't charge for this at all. I get the job because i'm friendly and helpful and give honest advice. Quoting...

    Heatline VIZO

You told me the c24 had it, Not the vizo. Was only trying to be helpful because you wondered about the innards of these things. Andy

    Heatline VIZO

Tony, Useful info, just spoke to Heatline techline and the c24/c28 flues are fully compatible with the VIZO. The vizo internally is also identical to c24. And they do have frost stats. Sounds good to me!

    Heatline VIZO

It wouldn't require a powerflush. It's brand new pipework. I do have a problem paying 840 quid to install a £315 boiler. Anyone would, otherwise they wouldn't be normal! Sometimes I believe corgi's use the fact you need them to do it to charge massive prices. how I wished you lived...

    Heatline VIZO

I don't want to start a huge debate on this. Never gets anybody anywhere. I do believe that installers shouldn't expect every small family to have thousands available for a boiler install or change though. I like supplying my own parts because I research everything and now what i want based...

    Heatline VIZO

That's worrying because I can't afford loads but if I can't get a legit installer to do it then what hope do I have. It's unfair for installers to refuse to install it because they can't make lots of profit from me. I can see what you're saying. If i said i'm willing to spend 3k then I...

    Heatline VIZO

the vizo has a mechanical timer. One of those confusing looking things that looks like a tachograph. There is no digital programmer though. Like one of these but built in.

    Heatline VIZO

Am i right in thinking that to meet building regs I would require a basic combi room thermostat. no trv on radiator in the same room. But TRV's everywhere else? Is that right? I don't need to buy a programmer/timer do i?

    Heatline VIZO

Yeah, it's the VIZO 24KW B rated condenser and it is £350 now inc vat. My girlfriends grandad is going to buy it so he can get 10% off (pensioner discount) so it comes down to £315. It is without the flue. I need to get a vertical flue and angle flashing plate. these will increase price to...
