    Night Storage Heaters

Around 2-3KW, could be more. Works out to around 36p an hour to run one 3kw heater during peak hours. Better get him on economy 7 or 10 if he's lucky. Or get gas!

Radiator getting hot with just hot water on

Just because it's a cheap boiler doesn't mean it's rubbish. It's normally the dubious installer who causes issues.

    Diversity?

I agree and my mcb and cable for my oven are designed for full load. My electrician is funny like that  Diversity works though so it's horses for courses.

    Hot Water Tap Outside

No reason why not but never seen it before! Just put isolator valves from inside on both pipes so you can drain the outside taps off during winter so they don't freeze. My paddling pool days were always in summer so water was fine being filled from cold tap!

    Economy 7

And how exactly do you make it drift out on an old fashioned disk meter, we're talking moving it forwards by about an hour or two so it finishes at 8am :P

    Economy 7

Hi, by the looks of things I have two tails from the supply outside. One set of tails goes to my standard consumer unit and the other tails go to my economy 7 CU - only my Storage heaters are connected to this. My question is will i be getting economy 7 from both cu's during the...

    External pipe for new boiler

I personally wouldn't be happy with it. pipes are better out of sight ( from aesthetic point of view). corgi's prefer it because any gas leak will be easier to locate and also less chance of a gas leak inside the dwelling. He should not be doing what he likes. It's your friends house so...

    Fence

Hi, I need to put some fencing in my garden, trouble is my garden goes quite steep so i'm not sure of how to put the fencing posts in. I don't want to use concrete posts because i have no way of supporting it so wanted to use wood. Can post sockets be used? The fence will be about 5 foot...

    tracpipe

I'm having a boiler installed in my loft. I have a duct to use but limited space to manoever lengths of pipe in. All my water pipes are done but I have a question about the gas pipe. I won't be doing the gas pipe but corgi's have said i need to remove the plasterboard and decoration so they...

    Baxi Solo 2PF

PCB stands for printed circuit board and is the main circuit board in a boiler. I'd advise you contact heateam which is part of baxi and have it replaced by them, do you have same boiler as original poster? I think they do fixed price repairs :?: If not baxi, any decent engineer can replace...

    Advice on Central heating boilers

How about a reliable corgi?! Three have seen me and not one has quoted. Unbelievable! why waste their time seeing me? 2 were complete bodgers yet qualified and 1 was really good. Obviously he is more busy than the other two so that leaves me in catch 22. I can now understand why...

    Replacing a radiator

Not entirely sure but I always thought you have to turn the boiler off completely. If it's not lighting very easily then will probably need a service. You might get away with just turning off CH but i've always switched all of it off.

Glow Worm Betacom 30 HE Combi Boiler

What do people think of this boiler? I am thinking of buying it for a 2 bed, one bathroom mid terrace house. Not huge hot water needs but don't wan't a trickle coming out of a tap! It does 11.7litres/min 35° rise. would corgi engineers fit a customer supplied boiler such as this...

    Ideal Boiler Location ?

Well my next door neighbour is as deaf as a post and doesn't use hearing aids. Her phone sounds like a police siren and her telly volume is really high. I can hear it but my girlfriend just blanks it out. Drives me mad! Worse still, my girlfriend is an audiologist so she even checked to...
