There isn't any lead in the house but from the road I don't know. All I can see is a blue looking pipe coming up from the ground by the stopcock. House was built early 60's

    What type of shower

By changes to internal pipework do you mean remove flexis? Is it worth upgrading the flexis to 22mm?

    What type of shower

Thanks. If at the road was measured at 16 l/min is it worth paying for a new pipe for that kind of flow? I have no idea when it becomes a game changer and worth it.

    What type of shower

Thanks. If it's only 16 litres per min at the road would you consider changing the the main pipe from there to the stopcock. (Seems like a big job) Having a poorer flow at taps is actually quite beneficial as you don't get it splashing everywhere etc. The main annoyance is not being able to...

    What type of shower

Thanks for your replies. Photo of lever. https://photos.app.goo.gl/krt6q9k1fCkwYKiTA This is a quick vid of the route for the cold. The cold ends up on the plastic pipes going to a temporary sink we have setup. Measured it quickly and the flow is probably the same at 6 litres per min. The...

    What type of shower

Thought I'd update this. So the plumber has replaced the old stopcock and also an isolator valve which was nearby as he though the restriction of the valve might be affecting the flow. He has replaced it with a lever type stopcock and if anything the flow is worse!!! Help!!!

    Expansion or not!

Hi guys, Just having downstairs toilet done. I understand laminate flooring needs expansion gaps but was wondering if there are any flooring types that don't. For example glue down luxury vinyl tiles. Do they need expansion gaps? What type of floor is most suited to a downstairs loo...

    New boiler - which thermostat?

Thanks. I see atag do something called a one controller. I can't find any places selling it though. The hive ones looks good. I have a summer rad installed so the current Drayton controls this via the "hot water" buttons. Would it just work the same with hive?

    New boiler - which thermostat?

Hi guys, Had an atag boiler installed yesterday. The guys wired in a Drayton lifestyle dual chanel thermostat/timer. This is temporary as I need this in the hall way so needs to be wireless. Has anyone got any recommendations for a wireless timer? I like the idea of controlling the heating...

    Watering down paint

Hi guys, Have got some new plaster to paint. I am going to water down white emulsion 50/50. When it comes to the top coat of emulsion in the colour we choose do people water this down? Maybe 25%? We had decorators recently and noticed they might have done this. Thanks

For £500 I would def go for it. I'll look direct although I don't think I am capable of installing it myself.

    Inward swinging fire door

Thanks Woody. Basically have an up and open garage door currently so when you go through the door the framing of this is just below the door height. I may modify the frame as the budget isn't going to allow for an electric roller at £1500. Canopy doors don't come 9ft wide. Annoying. Not far...

    Inward swinging fire door

Hi guys, We have a door going in from a lobby area near the hallway into what's left of the garage after the extension. So basically just a storage area. I know this door needs to be a fire door and have a minimum step down etc but was wondering if it ok for it to open into the lobby rather...
