Neff single built-in ovens-13A plug or hard wired?

Just another thought. If I fit a 13A plug then the oven will be protected by a 13A fuse. If it is connected to the cooker outlet then the protection is the 32A breaker. Is the 13A fuse not a safer option?

Neff single built-in ovens-13A plug or hard wired?

Yes I do it’s on a 32A rcb. At the moment it feeds a free standing cooker. After the kitchen has been done up and the old cooker removed, I will connect a 7kw hob to the dedicated cooker wall outlet, as the hob is going where the cooker is. The oven is going on a connecting wall around...

Neff single built-in ovens-13A plug or hard wired?

Finally downloaded a Neff install manual which states that a 13A plug can be used or an all-pin isolating switch with at least a 3 mm contact gap. Does Part P not allow me to connect a flex cable to 3 screw terminals on the oven? Connecting the appliance to the power supply - Fig. 4...

new kitchen- wiring cooker to another wall- DIY or not?

The existing cooker is on a dedicated 32 amp fuse in the fuse box. Yes indeed I just intend to remove the existing connection and extend the cable behind the new kitchen units to the hob and oven. Just want to make sure that this is acceptable, as I don’t want to chase out the wall but...

new kitchen- wiring cooker to another wall- DIY or not?

I am having a new kitchen fitted. At the moment the cooker is free standing. The new kitchen will have a built in hob and eye level oven on an adjoining wall. Am I allowed to run a cooker cable from the existing point behind the new kitchen units and terminate the cable myself? I don’t...

BT does a phone system called BCM (Business Communication Manager) It can use digital handsets or IP phones or a combination of both plus analogue for faxes and PDQ machines etc. Even with non IP handsets you can still integrate voicemail and Exchange but all I will say is don’t make it...

    flip down kitchen tv ?

Most if not all flip down TV’s seem to be from brands that I had never heard of. I bought mine around 3 years ago and it worked fine for 18 months until the remote control started to play up. This was a common problem with the model when I Googled it but it was impossible to get hold of a...

    Aerial fitting costs or DIY?

Don't think so. What make and model and what HD channels should it pick up? You can’t split a feed from a satellite dish to serve two Sky boxes but you can use the second RF output from a skybox

Do I need an electician when having the en-suite upgraded?

No the existing shower is fed from a combi boiler, with a mixer tap attched to the two pipes, which he was aware of. The guy looked at my consumer unit and pointed out that even though the ring mains were on RCB’s the lighting circuits were not. He talked about bonding and me having...

Do I need an electician when having the en-suite upgraded?

Thanks for the quick reply. The only electrical work that might be needed is to replace the existing shaver point as it is discoloured. This was never discussed and if I did decide that it needed changing I would do it myself as I assume I am allowed to carry out this task.

Do I need an electician when having the en-suite upgraded?

We have had a guy around to do a quote for doing up the en-suite. This involves re-tiling, new toilet, replacement shower fed by a combi boiler, wash basin, new radiator and altering the associated pipework. He informs us that we need to get an electrician in first to bring the electrics...

    Cheap inhibitor causing air?

Well a year has past since my last post. From last January to when the heating was switched off in May 2009 I carried on bleeding 3 radiators. Today I noticed one of the radiators was almost cold and had to give it a major bleed, which was the first time I have done it this season. Apart...

New Condensing Boiler - Lower Central Heating Temperature

If you set it to max the boiler won’t condense, no condensing means higher gas bills so that was bad advice.

    What happened to my shower?

Thanks for the info. So the claims by manufactures that their high wattage models are fine for simultaneous bath and shower usage is just so much hot water, or in my case no water.

    What happened to my shower?

Two years ago we had a 42kw Worcester Greenstar CDi combi fitted. Up until now we have never had a shower and ran the bath at the same time until Sunday. The result was a nightmare!!! I was all covered in soap when my daughter started to run the bath. As a result of her actions I didn’t get...

flat roof and wooden porch hell

My new porch needed planning permision and a set of drawings, which added to the cost, so it was more involved than just getting a builder in.
