    Vaillant Eco diverter failure

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure if it is an original part. It is the same price as one from Vaillant. Can they be cleaned after removal?

    Vaillant Eco diverter failure

4 months ago I replaced the diverter valve on my Vaillant Eco Plus 830 combie boiler. This fixed the problem: no hot water. Now the problem has returned. I have contacted the supplier but need to sort this out asap. Any ideas? Thanks Andrew

Cavity wall insulation beads not fully removed, leaking through air bricks

Thanks for the replies. The beads are between 4 and 7mm The replacement air bricks are plastic, mortared in. I think there is a gradual trickle rather than a deluge. I've bought a borescope. Perhaps that will shed more light on it. I'll check if there are any underfloor vent bricks too.

Cavity wall insulation beads not fully removed, leaking through air bricks

I'm posting this on behalf of a neighbour. They had cavity wall insulation beads removed when they moved in last year. Not sure why. The company inserted some air bricks but beads are still leaking out. They don't want to get them back because they don't trust them. Presumably, the air bricks...

Cannot find a source of grey (light clour) sand for pointing mortar

The pointing on my 1950s house is a light colour. I can only get yellow/orange or red building sand. I need a couple of bags. Any ideas?

    Vaillant Ecofit (thread now closed)

Yes. I installed the boiler according to the instruction manual. CH works fine. HW is only reliable when CH is on.

I am the installer. I am not a professional but have installed several CH systems and maintained them for 30 years. I will understand if the experts here might not want to help me though. This boiler was installed in December but has had a hot water problem from the outset. Thanks

    Vaillant Ecofit (thread now closed)

It's been a while since my last post. The hot water works OK when the central heating is on. When it is off, demand from any tap in the house causes the boiler to fire up for a few seconds then die. I had a similar problem with the Halstead Finest Gold that this boiler replaced. That was due...

    Vaillant Ecofit (thread now closed)

Thanks Ian Cylinder minimum temp is 60C. That's what we are used to. I'll try what you suggest.

    Vaillant Ecofit (thread now closed)

I tested a hot tap (without thermostatic valve) and found that the temperature gradually reaches 50C over 15 minutes, starting at 39.5C. No cycling this time. 50C is not hot enough to fill a bowl though. The thermostatic shower initially dipped in temperature then stabilised. I'll check it a...

    Vaillant Ecofit (thread now closed)

Thanks very much for the informative replies. I've measured the tap temperature, which rises to a stable 50C but this is only when the CH is on. When the CH is off, the tap temperature varies in a cycle from lukewarm to hot. I had the same problem with the boiler this one replaced. Every year...

    Vaillant Ecofit (thread now closed)

This new boiler works fine apart from fluctuating water temperature. The water temp is set to 60C, which is not high enough to sustain a thermostatically controlled shower. Using the instruction, manual I cannot increase the temperature above 60C. I have a Salus wireless thermostat for the...

No air vent from freezer to fridge

Thanks for the reply. I visited another forum and it looks like the compressor pump or pressure is faulty. There is not enough pressure to get the gas into coils behind the refrigerator (underneath the foam insulation presumably). The prognosis is that this will get worse and the freezer will...

No air vent from freezer to fridge

My refigerator has stopped working. The freezer is fine and I have defrosted coils. Fan is working. All of the websites suggest checking the air flow from the frezer to the fridge but there is no vent connecting the two compartments. I'm just about to get a new one but feel there must be a...
