    Electrical Installation Installation and Testing

Yes I am planning to enter the SUM of the measured Ze plus the measured R1+R2 - This would be a calculation, being the sum of two measurements (as opposed to going to a socket and doing a Zs test, which would be a measurement I was simply answering the OP who was asking why they'd raise an...

Cos my Zs is higher than the the calculated (which must be due to the "no trip" function being untrustworthy I believe).

Water tank overflow into soil stack

OK - Do I take it I can use a Tundish/Hepvo with iunsect screen and that it will comply?

Think it may be different for different BC, cos when he did the first fix visit, we talked about the tests I would be doing, and he said once I'm done he'd put his tester on some of the circuits to check the work. I got the impression he would simply be checking rather than compeltiong all of...

Thanks Gary - yes done the 1/2, 1 and 5 at 0 and 180 and they all look fine, but haven't done it at the board, so will do that too and take the highest.

:D and that's exactly why I want to calculate the Zs rather than put the result of the no-trip - the measured Zs is still more than acceptable (0.67) but is still higher than Ze +(R1+R2). If I put in the measured results BC would raise an eyebow wouldn't they?

OK - thank you. 1. OK - I think I was using the wrong teminology for R1+R2 - so I think I understand what you mean - r1+r2 is the figure of eight tests for the ring which will be 4 x the R1+R2 readings which should be inserted on the form. 2. Yes BC were informed, they've had their money...

Water tank overflow into soil stack

Water tank in roof, but no escape for mains in if the ballcock fails. Simplest thing for me would be a device that would take the potential overflow from the tank and overflow it into the soil stack - obviously it would need to prevent smells coming back. I can't imagine something hasn't...

    Electrical Installation Installation and Testing

I am going through the process of ripping out some old, extending, and installing new circuits in a flat. Building control were informed and have accepted my competance, subject to payment and them checking my work etc. I am coming towards the end of my testing and wanted to ask a couple...
