I managed to find the answer, not sure why I didn't come across it before. So I can wire it as grade 2. I was a bit surprised with the 3 jumpers on the bellbox, the battery and lcd were set to off. Is this just so its not completely run flat while not in use?

Hi, I'm currently installing one of these DIY, this is all new to me but seem to be getting on and learning as I go. I wanted to check, I have a grade 3 odyssey bell box, do I need to wire it as grade 3 to the panel or can I still wire it as grade 2? Thanks Marvin

Just updating this thread, haven't had a chance to get to my sister-in-laws house for a long time. Anyway, I've spent a few hours on it today armed with all the tips I've got here. Things are looking better now. Testing the global tamper pairs, there is definitely an issue to the door sensor...

Ok, I’ll do that, is there any particular cable I should get to replace the broken stuff, I see a lot of solid core but I’m sure I read somewhere not to use that but I could be wrong.

I’ve made the complete tamper circuit by tracing all the wires Then I checked the continuity. Checking white that connects to PCB tamper didn’t work when connected to the dining room. I checked blue from PCB tamper to dining room and it was fine. So i think this tells me there is a problem...

Ok, I’ve done that, tamper light is off

Connected the white blue together in the terminal block but still tamper is lit

Ok, yes that makes sense now, so I’ve broken the global tamper circuit by not joining the blue/white together.

Ok, so your saying it’s wired up properly and that it’s done that way due to a possible cable issue in the past? That’s a possibility as they’ve had rats over the years. If it’s wired up properly now why do you think the tamper is on? Faulty PIR or Mr Rat came back?

Ok so I’ve opened up the Z4 PIR on the affected zone. Doesn’t look right to me but I’ll let you guys comment.

When I opened up the control panel I turned the main power off and it was still working, is that not sufficient to say the battery is at least ok or you still recommend to change it?
