    Dripping tap and pressure loss

There's been a tiny amount of water (2mm) in the bottle but this could just be from rain water running down the outside of the pipe rather than from the prv having been activated. Previously when the prv has opened there's been a considerable amount of water in the bottle. I've not been...

    Dripping tap and pressure loss

I've been keeping a bottle at the end of the PRV outlet to monitor any release and there's not really been any now. However I haven't seen the pressure go upto 3bar, when I started to lose pressure it was at about 2.5bar maximum so I don't think the prv should have been activated. I'll check...

    Dripping tap and pressure loss

Hi Is it possible that a dripping hot water tap can cause a loss of pressure in the boiler central heating system? Ta K

Sofia Monobloc Tap; how do you replace the ceramic valves

I have a leaky hot tap too. Same model as yours. I've just spoken to Croydex http://www.croydex.com/default.aspx who actually seem to be the distributor for Damixa and they want £25.31 inc vat and postage for a new cartridge. It is the 13298 cartridge for hot. HTH

    TRV's and Boiler Query

in Brief, No- didn't really fancy changing the boiler :( I've already added/increased rad sizes to the tune of about about 4kW of rads to the current system! There's no door or window sealing the conservatory from the main house. I like the idea of adding even more rads/bigger...

    TRV's and Boiler Query

The house has a conservatory. I did a separate calculation for the Conservatory and added it the calculation for the house. However it has a polycarb roof so we might need to add a little to the 'Boiler size required' The calculations without allowing for the roof are: Boiler size...

    TRV's and Boiler Query

The Hall is always cold as the rad is only about 2 feet wide! We always have it on MAX so I guess this wouldn't be a problem, although IF the wall stat never got up to temperature then I guess it wouldn't shut off the boiler would it?

    TRV's and Boiler Query

Sounds good, looks easy. I could place one in the hallway and just drill through to the cupboard the boiler is in. The timer dial is on the boiler itself (see pic) Thanks

    TRV's and Boiler Query

   This house never suffers from being too warm. I wish!   Do I need a Gas Safe bloke to install a room stat or is it a simple procedure I could do myself?

    TRV's and Boiler Query

Ok - I'm gonna try to monitor the boiler adjusting the flame, hopefully I'll hear it as there's no window to the flames as in other boilers. I'll try to watch the gas meter as well. What will a Room Stat do for me? We never have the heating on so much that the house gets too warm.

    TRV's and Boiler Query

Hi John, It's not a wind up, I'm just a dullard! Let me put it like this: The heating is set to come on for 3 hours in the evening. The TRV's are set at 3 and those rad's remain warm (not hot) as the the TRV's close and modulate the rads, HOWEVER the boiler will be fired up for...

    TRV's and Boiler Query

Actually thinking about it I don't really want to reduce the temp in the Bathroom as it's the coldest room in the house. Instead of a 'proper' rad in the Bathroom it's got one of these Chrome Towel Heater type rad's. It's quite big though, see pic. The bathroom's only about 9'x5'. What...

    TRV's and Boiler Query

When the TRV'd rad's have reached temp they close off, but the boiler definitely stays on full whack supplying the bathroom, so if I turn down the boiler temp I should see a change whereby the boiler turns off when the bathroom rad reaches the set boiler temp? I'll try it today. I assume...

    TRV's and Boiler Query

Hi Who can explain this to me as I don't quite see how it works? What's the point of having TRV's on all my rads except 1, as when the heating is switched on the boiler is always burning (at full power, boilers don't automatically vary their output do they?) to supply that one radiator...
