    Humidity

I get night sweats so I'm physically suffering. I stay in many other places and only suffer at home. Also I don't feel it when I go other peoples houses in Southampton.

    Humidity

Not quite sure which category this might fit into so I'm putting it here. We're suffering with some crazy humidity in our house and want to know how/where it is coming from and how I might tackle it. I have a couple of these cheap hygrometer and they're both giving similar readings. The...

    Brown/Black coming from Heat Exchanger

Hi Moving on from a previous post today, I'm now cleaning out my HE with Fernox DS3 and after my first solution drain this is what came out as you might see the stuff coming out is black/brown. I was guessing the HE was blocked with Limescale build up as we live in a hard water area but...

    Cleaning Heat Exchanger

It's OK I just undid them and voila. Cheers mate Tell ya what though, that silver bar that's underneath the HE does that just pull out of it's connection or is it bolted in? I've removed a couple of circlips but I don't want to force it and it ain't coming off easily.

    Cleaning Heat Exchanger

Now I've closed all the supply and outlets to the boiler I'm looking at the HE but can't for the life of me remember how it comes off. Is it these two small grey bolts (see pics)? Thanks

    Cleaning Heat Exchanger

Hi I know Ive done this before years ago but unfortunately I have a very bad memory, so just to remind me: When descaling the HE on my Halstead Ace High Combi Boiler do I need to drain down the whole CH system? or just isolate the boiler and drain that down? I wouldn't drain it via the...

Coffee anyone? (Brown water in sealed CH system)

If I drain the system and then open the filling loop whilst leaving the drain valve open then wouldn't the water going into the system surely only travel from the filling loop to the drain valve? These points are literally only 3 metres from each other, the water wouldn't flow through the system...

Coffee anyone? (Brown water in sealed CH system)

Hi I've just bought some X100 to put in the sealed central heating system before the winter. I've isolated the bathroom rad and sucked out a litre or so of water and it was completely coffee colour (not black). I'm kind of reading conflicting stories about this, some say the brown is ok...

Adding a PIR to two existing outside lights

riveralt wrote: For both lights to come on and off via the PIR you will need to run the power through the PIR lamp first - and then to the non PIR lamp. Most PIR lamps have an additional switch live terminal for additional lights just check the one you buy has this facility. It would be...

Adding a PIR to two existing outside lights

It would be this one, can you tell from the description? http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Lighting/Floodlights/23w+Low+Energy+Floodlight+Floodlight+with+PIR/d220/sd2678/p67830 .

Adding a PIR to two existing outside lights

Does it matter which is the 'first' light and which is the 'second'? For example I would like to replace the Right hand light on the wall with a PIR Floodlight and leave the left hand light as it is. What if the left hand light is the 'first' light? Not sure I'm explaining this properly, do you...

Adding a PIR to two existing outside lights

My wife has a tendancy to deliver the post through the front door, not peoples back gardens that have a private woodland behind them which are closed to the public. And yes I check the window everytime a neighbours PIR is triggered and I go out when a car or house alarms sounds. And if it's...
