As the system had been leaking (through the PRV) and I'd been filling it up everytime to be honest it could well have been six months without any inhibitor as it all would have leaked out and then watered down in strength when I'd filled it up with fresh water each time. Which one? X300 X400...

Hi Mikefromlondon, if your pressure only raises by about 1/4bar then that's about the same as mine now. My expansion vessel is sound as it doesn't have water coming out from it. I still don't understand how it could have been so different before though, all I've done is remove the PRV, clean it...

Not sure what that means. The system was pressured up but cold.

I took the reading with a pressure gauge from the expansion vessel. According to the boiler manual the exp vessel should be about 0.3 bar below the recommend boiler pressure when cold, so I think that's about right isn't it?
