Water Problem - New UPVC door

I think the fixings are 6 inch. [assuming you are talking about the screws used to hold the door in place] Is this a suitable PVC quadrant...

Water Problem - New UPVC door

I am not sure if there is a sill but there are drainage holes on the frame. The door does open in but I am not sure if a drip has been fitted as I don't know much about doors at the moment. I have included a picture of what the base of the door looks like from the outside. Hope...

Water Problem - New UPVC door

Hi, I just had a new UPVC back door installed and have noticed that when it rains, water is coming in at the bottom of the door. I inspected the bottom of the door both inside and outside and noticed there is about 2-3mm gap at both sides. The door is sitting on concrete and I was...

    Vokera Compact 29 Boiler

I contacted the plumber who installed it yesterday and they claimed that they must have forgotten to terminate the pipe but are coming back with a condensing pump and running it to the waste pipe.

    Vokera Compact 29 Boiler

Thanks to everyone who has taken time to help. Was also wondering do I need to replace the Damp Proof in the areas it is missing? Do I need I need to inject the walls with damp proofing? The external ground level is well below the DPC and the air vents are already clear.

    Vokera Compact 29 Boiler

Hi Richard, This is what it looked like once I cleared all the rubble away that was under the bucket in the original picture. As you can see there was a damp proof course, which looks like it was some kind of tar substance and some of it has eroded away.

    Replacing Joists

This is my drawing of what the wall construction is. This is a top down view of what you would if you looked under the window ledge. Let me know if you require more pics. With regards to the old vent, you are correct in that it is doing nothing but as far as I am aware it contains...

    Vokera Compact 29 Boiler

Not sure if this applies to my current boiler but I was reading that condensing boilers release nitric acid which has to be neutralised before going to the sewer. Is this the case with my boiler?

    Vokera Compact 29 Boiler

Hi, I got the Vokera Compact 29 boiler (20020832) installed about 1 year ago and recently noticed that there is a pipe running from it into our cellar. As you can see in the picture below, the pipe is not connected to anything and is actually leaking about half a pint of water per day. I...

    Replacing Joists

Thanks Joe & Ree for taking time to help. I reckon there has been previous water damage but don't know if it is still present or if it has been remedied. How would I know? I posted a picture of the air vent above and I have checked that the vent is clear, which it is. It is about 8 inch in...

    Replacing Joists

Here are the pictures: 1st picture is how the plumber who installed our boiler left the condensate pipe. Have found what we think may be a small amount of dry rot which is probably caused from a previous event. Here are the pictures of the wet rot on the joist Here is a picture of...

    Replacing Joists

Hi Ree, The basement is more of a enlarged crawl space. As you enter it from the outside it is about 4 feet high and gradually decreases to about 2-3 feet. The boiler was installed about January 2013 and since I put the bucket down a few days ago to catch the drip from the condensate pipe...
