    AC Compressor...

Thanks John! This particular compressor is of a VW Tiguan, the LP Pipe has come adrift due to the retaining bolt being left loose, all AC gas lost & oil too + crap sucked in from engine bay, this has caused the compressor to seize up & shear the bolt that connects the pulley to the pump drive...

    AC Compressor...

Does anyone know how this type of compressor engages/disengages? There is no clutch at the front just a pully with a damper inside, the only connection is the one you can see at the back. Is there an internal clutch or maybe a pressure relief valve to take the load of the pump when not in use??

    VW Touran.

I beg to differ on the impossible to leak from the top part, sorry! These housings can be a real pain! They are just a rubbish design & I have seen a few leaking! They can be a PITA to get the housing back together & leak free.

Do All Recent Diesels Have Potential Partic. Filt. Problems?

I have found BMW's to be great up until 100k, then problems start, the most reliable DPF'ed cars on our fleet have been Hyundai, probably due to their regen criteria being low, they can regenerate at speeds of 15 mph or greater, I think BMW's & most other German cars need speeds over 40mph to do so.

    Freezer icing up (frost free)

I pulled apart my freezer & attacked it with a hair dryer, worked well! I`m sure you`re not supposed to do this but it worked & said fridge freezer is still going strong years later & has not iced up since.

Oil Filter 1.6 hdi 2010 Peugeot Partner Tepee

These filters are odd and abit of a pain, if you look into the filter housing on the engine you will see the hole that it goes in & notice there is a raised part thats round, inline & level with the hole, this is the guide for the pointy bit! The filter tightly fits into the filter cap, you fit...

Hotpoint aqualtis AQGD 169Swash m/c leaking from soap drawer

My hotpoint (different model) did this when the water pump got blocked, it couldn't empty the drum fast enough before it started spinning! It's not that big a job if yours is anything like mine to strip & remove the blockage! Mine was almost compleatly blocked with a circular cotton disc that...

    hissing sound from laguna engine

This was a well known issue on the Laguna, the boost parameters were set too high so the intercoolers blew up. I'm not sure about the Kangoo, I've not worked at Renault for some years now. Have a listen & a feel around for any leaking boost while someone revs the engine, hopefully you can...

    Power carseat from 240v

This circuit in a vehicle is normally fused at around 30A, there could be 3 motors per seat, I would expect each motor to draw between 4 - 7A under normal use. 2A is not going to be enough to move the seat with you sat on it :)
