Hi All - noobie here!

As the title says my wife found this inside the drum of our Whirlpool AWZ 7913 Condensor Dryer after she heard a rattling noise in the drum, a day later and the machine wont work - it says to empty the bottle (it's empty) and also to clean the heat exchanger (which we've done).

Anyhow, here's the offending article:

Anyone recognise it? Like a typical man I've had a good look with a torch to see if I could spot where it's from - no luck, so I got my tools out and have "investigated" a bit further - my rationale was 'well it's not currently working so if I can fix it - no loss', however I'm beginning to think I should have left well alone.

I think it may have come from this front part of the dryer although cannot see anything missing from the parts I can see (although a lot of the casing is plastic welded so cannot "interfere" with it too much?

Any help or advice would be greatfully received - thanks in advance! :) :?

Only guessing, either part of a door catch interlock, or as one end is slightly dirty it might be a spindle for a button or knob that passes through the facia panel.

Cheers for the response, I've stripped and cleaned the machine and can't find anything missing or wrong? Have just reassembled and started it on a dry cycle and it's currently working (and has been for 15 minutes so far).

Fingers crossed!

That is the key to open a towel dispenser usually found in a toilet & not part of you're machine!
