    Heating problem

Well looks like it was the valve - thanks all. I took the front off the silver box and in doing so noticed the manual lever seemed to be working correctly again - must have just needed tapping the motor to free it. That's good enough for me for now. :D

    Heating problem

Thanks both, for info and quick replies :-) Hi Solman: On the valve that I think is making the noise, I can push it across by applying some force, and it makes a noise like a motor being pushed manually, then it self rights itself back to the original position. The lever on the other valve...

    Heating problem

Hi Kev, No fiddling recently. I replaced the lounge stat (mechanical for digital) and the controller (old one died) over a year ago, but nothing recently. Hi Solman, I tried turning the hot water on and off and listening for the valves closing when I switched it off. It could be that only...

    Heating problem

Hi, Looking at the manual, I think I have an S plan heating/hot water system. 1. When only the hot water turns on (central heating off, on the programmer/controller), the pump and two Honeywell V4043 valves open and the central heating comes on too. Is this normal for an S plan system...

    Shower pump intermittant noise

Hi, I have a Stuart Turner Monsoon shower pump, which has been installed and working fine for the past 2 years or so. It has recently intermittently started making a loud humming noise (only twice in last two weeks), which resonates up the cold water supply pipes. When this happens, I...

    Boiler Stat

I recently had a problem with my Danesmoor 15/19 boiler where it kept cutting out (power light not lit). I replaced the thermostat and it started working OK again for three days, but now the same issue is re-occuring. Is this likely to be the new stat failing or something else?

    Danesmoor 15/19

Phoned Parts Centre, they found the new part number and the stat arrived today. Fitted it and it works like a dream (useful because it's just started snowing here). Total cost - £25. Brilliant. :D Thanks for help guys.

    Danesmoor 15/19

Thanks Terry, I tried turning the stat down, but the power light still wouldn't come on. The stat does click when turned right down, but the boiler power light won't come on, no matter where the stat is positioned. I checked the Parts Centre website, but am a little unsure. They have a part...

    Danesmoor 15/19

...sadly now it's stopped working again, same problem :( . Does anyone know where I can get a new control stat for this, preferably mail order or online? The ref number is Ranco K36P1322 (also ZAMAJ226)? Alternatively, does anyone have the parts list for the old 15/19 (installed some time...

    Danesmoor 15/19

Well the boiler is working again today. I guess it cooled off and stat reset itself. Wilhelm: Thanks for advice . :)

    Danesmoor 15/19

When I take the front panel off, I can see a red plastic thing sticking out of the underside of the electrical panel. It is a cylindrical, with a red cross in the centre of it. Is this the manual reset switch? I pressed it, but it does not seem to move like a switch, and pressing it had no...

    Danesmoor 15/19

Hi, I have a Danesmoor 15/19 boiler which has stopped powering up. The thermostat is on and the power lights for heating and water on the timer are lit. But the power light on the boiler has not come on. Previously when I've had problems the 'lockout' light has come on, but no lights...

Thanks. I couldn't find the Black and Decker model but found one made by Clarke fro £12 on the machine mart website, so I'll give that a go. :)

Pump to transfer oil to new tank and pump for priming system

Hi, Further to my earlier post "Moving oil tank and use of de-aerator", can anyone recommend a cheap pump that I can use to transfer oil from an old metal oil tank to a new plastic tank. Also, I will need a pump to prime the system, so if it was also capable of being connected to the...

Moving oil tank and use of de-aerator

Hi, I plan to replace my existing metal oil tank (currently raised on brick pillars) with a plastic tank. I would like to situate the new tank further away from house than the current tank, and situate it at ground level rather than raised on pillars. I am familiar with the regs regarding...

    Low hot water pressure

Hi Bob, Unfortunately it does have shower attachment and a seperate spout. So I have four holes drilled in the top of the bath to suit this particular tap setup.

    Low hot water pressure

Hi Bob, I have tried reversing the hot and cold. Unfortunately, the pressure was just as bad. So I don't think it is a specific fault with the tap. I guess it could just be the way that it has been designed. Roca (tap manufacturer) said it needs at least 2 bar pressure to operate.
