Why do parents of today seem so obsessed with getting their offspring to university. For a large percentage of undergraduates it just means unemployment after three years of study......they'd be better of getting a degree in life.

....Thanks for that.....the cost for EDPM is cheaper at £90 but I am more concerned about the quality/durability of the finished job.....never having used EDPM before I just don't know how effective it is.......the length of g'tee would seem to suggest it is ok stuff!!

Just ready to cover small OSB covered flat roof 1.5 x 3.5 metres. Was going to do traditional 3 layer torch-on but EPDM looks an easier and cheaper option. Any of you guys got an opinion on the best of these two options ??

when I talk about polystyrene I mean something like 'wallshield' which I presume meets building regs including fire issues

In order to improve heat retention I am looking to lift existing floor boards and apply insulation either between or on top of the joists. Question is what is the best insulating material.....would it be slabs of polystyryn between the joists or something like a Triso 10 foil insulation...

Hi..........best solution please for laying vinyl tiles such as Karndean onto a concrete floor in newly built conservatory. Would it be wise to first lay T & G chipboard and apply the vinyl tiles glued down on top of this?? I'm thinking of doing this for the modest improvement in insulation it...
