What lintel do I need for a door 30" wide above a door in a load bearing wall at the moment the wall has a window 2ft wide in place where the door will be. The wall is 9inch solid brick will it be OK to use 2 concrete lintels 70mm x 100mm
I am fitting a fire door into an attached garage it has to have a 150mm step up to house.
My question is can this step be behind the fire door if I have the door at garage floor level the step would be behind the door on the house side
I forgot to add these brackets have been fitted directly to the brickwork with bolts I would have thought it should have been either built into the wall or had metal columns
I have had an attached garage built onto the side of my house the dividing wall has 2 windows into the garage.
My question is can I brick up these windows with Glass bricks to retain some of the available light.
Or is there some form of fireproof Glass available I could use
I have just had a flat roof replaced with a lean to pitched roof which is hipped. The roof is very shallow (15 degrees)
On one corner the hip tiles come right up to and over the window sill of the bedroom window.
Is this normal
I am fitting a new consumer unit the old tails are 16mm and the tails from the main fuse the meter are also 16mm.
The main fuse is 80amp is it ok to use 16mm to wire up the new unit
I am fitting a new consumer unit with the main switch on the right the tails come from the lefthand side.
Is it permissable to run the tails inside the cu to make a neater job or do they have to be exposed and enter at the righthand side
