Retraining to Boiler Engineer - any advice ?

Sorry... Mis-read your post, you are planning to re-train as a "boiler engineer" will you have to work up from the foot plate, to stoker, before you can call yourself a "boiler engineer" Personally I love steam trains, though did not realise there was a career in working on them...

    Departurtes

Why? Were you hoping that you'd get advice saying "go ahead"? You already knew that NICEIC say "don't do it", and via association so probably do the ECA and SELECT, but you didn't care for that advice, so you went looking for some which you did like. And having not found any here, where...

Retraining to Boiler Engineer - any advice ?

Why does everyone want to retrain to be a plumber/heating engineer? I reckon in a couple of years there will be a real shortage of financial advisors (was tempted to use *ankers).... Will it be worth re-training, just in case..

What can i do with my loop in lives

Why can you not use a junction box? Make off the cables/cores you have into a JB with a short length of flex fitted, make this flex off into your light fitting (you can replace the white plastic box and connectors with a JB). The JB will then tuck up into the ceiling void, through the...

    Earth Rod Testing

That the work table requires a ground rod within 7M of the table, with a resistance of no more than 0.5 Ohm. I know it is a DIY forum, but a lot of people who post here are professionals, I was assuming that some of them would have some experience in this area (testing earth rods) and could...

    Earth Rod Testing

It is actually the "ground" point for the cutting table on a cnc profiling machine, the plasma unit that does the cutting needs a ground rod close to the table, with a reading of 0.5 Ohm or less, to dissapate the HF pulse it produces at start up. Nick.

Hi, Is it possible to test an earth rod using an earth loop impedance tester? Can you get an accurate result? How should you carry out the test? Thanks, Nick.
