Thanks everybody. I understand a lot more now. Been reading... I need some WBP for a false wall that im going to make for the shower mixer, so ill probably put down Ply. I think the issue of the level changing from hall to bathroom is a concern and using Ply is going to help reduce this...

    upstairs floor tiles

Could you tell me why please? I dont know what to search for. My worry was that the grout would crack if the chipboard was not entirly rigid, which is a problem with crapboard as you say. dont know if it helps, but is the water resistant stuff with the plastic sheet glued to it (caber deck).

where to fit my thermostatic shower mixer?

I am refitting my bathroom. The length of the room ia about 20cm longer than the bath. (The current bath has a row of tiles at the end, making a shelf that fills in the space left over.) I am replacing the bath tub (already bought) and have a thermostatic mixer (already bought) to fit. As...

    HOMEWORK QUESTION 2

OK, i see. They want a set of coords from the station. The station being 0,0. then: 0 to 1 to 2 to 3 But from a maths point of view, the magic happens in the 4th column. You have to walk 4 horizontal roads and 12 verticals. Good fun!

    HOMEWORK QUESTION 2

One minor point (and sorry i did only scan the thread): the answer is 4,12 not 3,11. You need to count the first row of ones as part of the solution. The row of ones represent the outer road that gordon can walk down. Next row represents Y*1, next row represents Triangular number series, next...

Freesat are a commercial body who are broadcasting television and radio services over satellite to the UK only, on the Astra 2D satellite. TV and set top manufactureers who put the logo on their kit have to jump through a lot of hoops. The main 'advantage' of freesat is that you get their...

    could this be rats?

I noticed that in my shed today, i had about 40 litres of soil! My shed is situated next door to neighbours compost heap. This is just a bare heap, v. large. They do not garden, they just use it to get rid of garden waste. They have an apple tree and have put 100's of apples on the heap...

Hello, My semi det. house built circa 1945 has terrible draught running around the cavity walls. My sons room is very cold and the other day I noticed that cold air was coming out from the skirting board. This was coinciding with the gusts of wind i could hear outside. Downstairs in the...

    internal door no longer fits

The gap around the rest of the door looked ok and the same as it was when fitted. There does not seem any movement in the hinges either. So why would the door swell and what should i do any how. I am renovating the house; this door at the moment is the only one that I have replaced, and the...
