    Digital Thermostat - Heatmiser?

Thanks Tony, Yes, I must admit I saw the Sunvic ones also, but rejected them on the basis of 'you get what you pay for' because they were very cheap in comparison to the others. I'll take another look at the Drayton ones now, after your comments about their simplicity. Don't suppose...

    Digital Thermostat - Heatmiser?

Hi, I've decided to replace my Drayton RTS1 manual thermostat with a more modern digital one. After searching through various threads on this site, it seems that the Heatmiser PRT may well be my choice. It seems that the Drayton Digistat 3/3+ are complicated to set and also are don't...

    Kitchen Sink Leaking

Hi, I have one of those plastic 1 & 1/2 kitchen sinks - installed when the house was built 8 years ago. It obviously has 2 waste outlets, both of which have decided to leak! I've had a look at the waste outlets... the main sink one is loose and can easily be moved by wiggling the...

    Pump Stays On!

Wow, that was some discussion  I am a total amateur at this and have therefore taken the only sensible option and ordered a new motorised valve head - delivery expected today. Really grateful for the advice that everyone gave on this; it's much appreciated. I'll let you know how...

    Pump Stays On!

Dave, I've managed to source the actuator for ~£40 delivered. Before I buy it, can you just reassure me that the fact that the orange wire is live means that the actuator is probably faulty...I'm not doubting you, but the post from simond has got me worried! Thanks again.

    Pump Stays On!

Sorry don't know what you mean about the grey or orange wire. Both motorised valves had orange wires, only one was live. Seems to me that Dave's (gas4you) advice was correct. The reason I asked about the microswitch was that it looked so easy to do! The valve is absolutely fine and the...

    Pump Stays On!

Dave, It turns out that the orange wire to the Sunvic (SZ2301F) is constantly live. Any ideas where I can get just the head from? If I was feeling really ambitious, could I just source the microswitch? Thanks again

    Pump Stays On!

The wiring was very complicated, so I've decided to do it tomorrow when the mind is fresher!

    Pump Stays On!

Dave, thanks for this...having looked around, I can only seem to buy the whole thing. Can you advise/recommend where I can buy just the head from. Really grateful for your help.

    Pump Stays On!

Thanks Dave, just been upstairs and found the wiring centre. Found the 2 orange wires too!! As per my previous post, assuming that it is the microswitch, can I replace just that or will I need a new motorised valve?

    Pump Stays On!

Hi Dave, I am comfortable with live electrics, but not sure what you mean by the wiring centre - where do I find this? Is it next to the cylinder or in the boiler? Assuming that it is the microswitch, can I replace just that or will I need a new motorised valve? Thanks

    Pump Stays On!

It's an Ideal Classic - the only reference that I can find on it is FF260. Hope it makes sense to you! I should have mentioned before that I had an intermittent problem with one of the motorised valves about 4 years ago. A piece of plastic on the actuator had broken off and caused the pump...

    Pump Stays On!

Hi, I hope someone can help me. The pump on my central heating system is on staying on, even when the heating or hot water is off! I've had a look at the 2 (2 port) motorised valves in the system and they seem to be working ok. I have an 8 year old Megaflow pressurised system -...
