    Loose fill Asbestos underneath floorboards?

Sounds like the cavities were injected filled and some of the cavity fill blew through a hole in the inner leaf or around a joist. You will no doubt see mortared over holes on the outer leaf in a staggered pattern.

What is this on my washing machine inlet?

It's an Aquastop hose. In the event of an internal leak, the Aquastop hose uses an electrical solenoid system to act as a remote fill valve, which shuts off to contain water inside the outer hose. This safety feature is designed to prevent floods and leakages due to a burst or corroded inner hose.

Advice needed - RSJ sitting on 3" of 4" brick with 5 ton load.

Sorry, shortest. You only need two 215mm lengths of 6x4 lintel as padstones. One to go under the steel where you've indicated (padstone with a brick under it to rest on the lintel below) and I would take that snapped brick out that you've highlighted where you want to put an engineering brick...

Advice needed - RSJ sitting on 3" of 4" brick with 5 ton load.

I would buy the shortage 6x4 concrete lintel and cut a short bit off to use as a padstone. I'm pretty sure engineering brick won't be to regs. Depends what the acros sit on, is it a wooden floor. If you lay a scaffold board down across the joists (floor and ceiling) and acro off them, you...

New Build Double Skin Garage to Workshop

Yes to removing some bricks for a Catnic lintel, less work with visible concrete lintel (spanlite outer, 6x4 inner). Insulation, should be minimum 60mm if concrete blocks, and 50mm if medium density blocks. Plasterboard, I would include a vapour barrier so foil backed would be the route I would...

    another conservatory insulated roof project

Forget the finish; plasterboard, wood, plastic etc.. Minimum kingspan (or similar brand) is 120mm. Normally 100mm between the roof aluminium members and then you have to fit timbers below this and put the extra insulation between those. Then your ceiling finish screws to those. If you choose...

Brickwork 18mm out of plum on new build- advice needed

NHBC means, "New Houses Built Crap". The house won't fall down, the brickwork is just ****. NHBC states 8mm out of plumb in a reveal, maximum. When I built my first extension years ago, my brickwork was 5mm out of plumb, from the path to the top of the gable end, that's 8.5 metres in height...

Advice needed - RSJ sitting on 3" of 4" brick with 5 ton load.

It's existing so nothing really needs to be done. As you say, it may not pass regs now as it should be on a concrete padstone, but it did pass regs in it's day. If you can be bothered to get a SE to spec current regs on it and fit a padstone, up to you, but I wouldn't be bothered unless theres...

Gas pipe at or just below ground level under driveway

I think, the electric and gas companies now like to see some minimum 450mm depth to the top of the cable and pipes, in pea gravel and the correct warning tape above that. As it's existing, if you went through it, the utilities would normally fix it foc because they're not deep enough. If I was...

Gardz or mist coat or both

Mist coat, 10% water added to first coat of emulsion. You only need to use Guardz to seal a wall when it had been wallpapered in the past. You could use Guardz on new plaster, but it would just be an expensive way to coat new plaster.
