I came to plumb in a Belfast sink, the waste supplied was just too small of a diameter, the one from the supplies was slightly too big. The plumbers merchand had one that fitted but had a standard plug. So after measuring the one that was too small and the one too big, I determined about 90mm...

99.9% of ground floor damp issues are resolved by lowering the ground around the house so it's 6 inches minimum below the inside floor level. Could anyone explain stairs to a loft for me and regs

If you were to sell your house, then without the loft space passing and having building regs, it can't be described as a bedroom etc.., just loft storage space. So yes, you only need to worry about doors, fire alarm, escape route, stairs etc.. if you went down the regs route.

Are these hinges on my aluminium doors adjustable?

The hinges I've come across tend to have some cover that pops off or a grub screw comes out, so you can hinge a plate open to reveal adjustment screws. So if there's nothing on the outside part of the hinge connected to the door frame, what about the part connected to the door?

Well, I was speaking to a joinery manufacturing company a few weeks ago and they said stairs creek because they're made out of wood, so they make the risers and treads out of MDF. You are going to have to glue wooden batons and screw them into place along the edges of the risers and treads...

Laying bricks on a concrete base, mortar bed or sand?

Block pavers are uniform in size and fit together quite tightly, then grouted with kiln dried sand. Bricks are not uniform in size, and thus they tend to have approx 10mm beds and perps of mortar around them. I've never bedded bricks on sand, and with the irregular sizes, not too sure how that...

    help with rebuilding supporting pillar

We've done similar jobs as in the OP where the SE have just said ties and building control just always go what the SE says. But as I've mentioned before, structural work should require building regs and building regs would want to see the calcs.

    Loose fill Asbestos underneath floorboards?

Well, there's nothing wrong with asbestos as long as you don't cut it / sand it, or anything that puts asbestos dust into the air to breathe it in. You couldn't go to a property and fit, say, a panel containing asbestos, but if there's already one there, there's nothing stopping you using it in...

    Loose fill Asbestos underneath floorboards?

No asbestos whatsoever, it'll be a product like polystyrene and probably treated not to absorb moisture. The stuff blown into cavities tends to be either cotton wool stuff or little polystyrene type balls.
