As far as I'm aware you do need a particular pump for the Boilermate 2000. Should be the same as original (x18). But I'd probably get the sensors checked first as they are prone to failure.

When I was an apprentice we used to use Cementone Mortar Clean for our council contracts (refurbs) to clear scale from wc pans. Worked a treat in about 1 min :shock: Goggles required :shock: :shock:

Profiles/Primas are prone to boiler stat failure. Get that checked first by a RGI.

You might be able to get a few spares, not many though. Parts by Glowworm. Boilers about 28/30 years old. Most have been disconnected by now due to the front case seal being knackered and obsolete.

And lets assume his boiler has an overheat stat :wink:

1. Two different gas valves for this boiler. 2. As your gas safe registered(well, maybe) should be a simple fault to find :roll:

Likely to be pilot solenoid on gas valve.

Sounds like an air pressure fault. Tubes split by fan. tubes restricted or faulty air pressure switch. Get an RGI in.

The rattling noise from the pump area can be caused by a loose gate in the pump valves. Make sure they are fully open and the noise may stop.

If you want BG to fit the new gas valve it will have to be 1. the correct valve 2. unused. 3. in manufacturers packaging. If none of the above, then I'm afraid you've had it :cry:

Dodgy tap

Check resistance of pilot solenoid. Should be about 1.5 kOhm

No plate h/ex on a Modena. There is a flow restrictor on the cold water inlet. Check there first.
