Power from an outside Socket to a shed.

A while ago an electrician fitted me an outside double waterproof wall socket IP66 rated. He took the power for it from the washing machine socket in the kitchen. I believe this is referred to as a spur connection. Its been great for plugging in hedge clippers, power tools etc but we now have...

240v Voltage Regulator – Motor Speed Controller.

Well decided to buy the Chinese one in the end. I'll disconnect the grey wire with the Chinese plug and connect it to my drill. This way I can use the Chinese socket on the unit to plug my drill into. The Black plug & wire from my drill will replace it. Hopefully it will achieve my goal...

240v Voltage Regulator – Motor Speed Controller.

Thanks for all the input guys much appreciated. I looked at the Chinese version but as mentioned I too was a bit worried about the nightmare stories we often read regarding the many dangerous products that originate from there. I thought I had found the answer at Argos for only £14.99. They...

240v Voltage Regulator – Motor Speed Controller.

Thanks for the reply. I use it for loading fishing line on and off spools. It's best explained if you watch this short video I shot. The drill has speeded up since I filmed this so I'm guessing the speed control on the trigger switch is knackered.

Standard SDS Drill Bit into an SDS Plus Chuck?

Thanks guys I was confused. It was the SDS Plus and SDS Max bits i'd seen. About to buy my first SDS Rotary Drill after my 20yr old trusty Black & Decker failed to drill a decent hole for a sheild anchor bolt in a house brick. Think i've just about got my head around it all now.

    Wickes Code 4 Lead

Notice Wickes sell a 10mtr x 150mm role of code 4 for £40.80. Its just enough to do a small canopy I'm doing. Is this a reasonable amount to pay or is it way over priced? Never bought any before so haven't a clue. Thanks

    Step flashing

That's what I thought. He had a small off cut of lead he wanted to sell me and told me, with what I had and his piece I could get all my soakers and steps out of it. Declined his kind offer and told him I'd buy a roll lol. Thanks

Got the lead soakers in place, and have a long piece of old lead flashing that I took down from the previous lean to canopy. Its not enough to do both sides (about 42" each side) but ....... A roofer that was working...

Laying out the bottom row of tiles.

Made a small 45 degree pitched canopy roof over the front door. Re-Using the old flat clay tiles 265mm x 165mm with 38mm x 25mm battens. Now I have read and seen a diagram that informs me I need a row of half tiles along the bottom, followed by a row of full tiles. Trouble I am having is...
