Yeah certainly a shocking surprise, how would I go about checking the continuity do I attach and exta cable to the clamp the have my meter by the light switch? And do I turn off the power for that?

Yeah downstairs ring main is 15 amp upstairs ring main is 30 amp and alarm is wired into the lighting circuit

Earth wires are connected and I have a plug in tester that said it was ok, it must be ok because when I dropped the toaster the 15 amp rewireable fuse blew

Yes the lights are earthed, everything is earthed

Thanks The house was built in 1899 and has 2 brown Bakelite light switched and the rest are modern metal ones, the sockets are white mk sockets that look quite old but it all seems to work fine but I blew a fuse when I knocked the toaster off the top and broke it, what's weird is it looks like...

Hi I have a citroen xsara picasso in storm grey which is like a metallic graphite colour and there are a few small scratches on the car and I was wondering if the scratch remover pen from jml will work to remove the scratches as it is quite cheap or a touch up pen from the citroen dealer thanks
