    Danfoss HSV3 (I think) with HSA3 actuator. Valve can be operated manually but boiler won't fire up with it set to auto with the DHW switched on on it's own.

    Er, what you apologising for? You said "leaking fumes from the (asbestos) flue and gas from the gas valve", so you did say leaking gas from the gas valve.

    I agree. Why start with the most expensive part to replace when a new thermocouple may well fix the problem?

    My sisters house is fitted with an Ideal Classic boiler and a Danfoss Y-Plan. In order to get hot water she has to switch the CH on. I changed the actuator on the 3 port valve which made no difference. The boiler will only fire up when the CH is on. Any ideas?
