    you could but it might leak, if it did you would have to replace the olive, if you had to replace the olive, you might aswell fit the whole valve, or you could,as some dodgy plumbers do, wrap the old olive it in ptfe tape:LOL:

    I agree Gas safe registered means nothing IMHO!!!! It just means they can charge more.... Take my install for an example, for which the thread is now locked......But for the good advice from the people on here I have now had it rectified.....Why these gas safe plumbers did not do it 1st time...

    Well when I have awkward to reach bits, thats nothing else can reach, I bring out the Aldi multi tool(y)...Its a beast!!!!! Just today I used it to remove some left over piping form my old boiler install:D....Its cuts through copper no problem, also handy for cutting plasterboard and removing...
