I will try and get a picture. The windows were installed only last year and there plastic, the drain holes are in the bottom of the window that opens and there is a drain hole of the same size that is in the frame that the window sits in so you could say it the main frame that sits in the wall.

    Condensation problems

I understand that the drain holes want stop condesation forming but they are supposed to wick away the water that collects in the frame, the downstairs windows are fine infact there bone dry but the upstairs large windows have small puddles of water inside the frame they sit in. The small...

    Condensation problems

So do you have any pointers? the thing i cant understand is why its occuring in the corners of the window and why the large windows have a drain hole in them but the frame they sit in doesnt because at the end of the day water that cant escape will track backwards.

Is this normal for a Y plan

I as just pointing out it wasnt gravity fed and that they were both pumped before  The timer had to be changed and has been moved to the airing cupboard which is home to the cylinder and pump, it had to be done like this because i didnt want any extra wiring putting in through the house...

Is this normal for a Y plan

The boiler is a myson economist. It is pumped CH and HW like it was before its just before it only had a 2 way valve on the CH pipe so we were always heating the water. Thing is the pump works continuously if iam heating the water but the boiler doesnt work continuously it comes on for a bit...

Is this normal for a Y plan

The plumber we use said he couldnt wire it up, he gave no reason but it was a pain even for the electrician because of the way it had been wired up to run with just a 2 way valve of one pipe. I will try and explain it more clearly. 1. If i choose HW and CH the boiler fires up and when the...

Is this normal for a Y plan

Ive just had my system changed over to a y plan and although iam more than happy with the results iam just unsure of one thing. If both the HW and CH are switched on the pump runs continuously, if i have the HW running the pump runs continuously but if i only have CH or the cylinder stat stops...

    What is this

Ive just been in the loft putting the new insulation in and ive spotted something thats got me a little worried, theres a hole in the felt for starters about the size of a small plate and some of the timber on the same side (rafters) has a white/yellow stain on it and the area smells like...

    will i have enough ventilation?

Iam goin to renew the loft insulation we have at the weekend, at the moment its very old and is falling apart and only has a depth of about 80mm. Iam not sure how far i can put the insulation to the edge of the building, i think i have plastic vents fitted to the underside of the roof because i...

    How much for this work?

I think its going to work out easier and cheaper to just switch the 2 port for a 3 port, i expect there will be less wiring with a 3 port but the cost of an extra 2 port compared with just one 3 port is so small i would rather just have the 1.

    One cold towel rail

You beat me to it, i was just going to say it could be sediment. It should be easy enough for you to flush the system out as you will be using the heating alot this time of year so the cleaner will get chance to do its work.
