    fire doors/building regulations

    If your existing doors are fire doors then you will most likely need to replace these with fire doors. you should be careful if you are looking to change the doors to glazed doors as the glass would also need to be fire resistant. Good advice to consult your local council BCO.

    fire doors

    my mate says that you carnt partially convict a loft- its all or nothing and if you chop the door in half then itll invalidate the fire certification for the door - fire doors should come as sets with the frame unless test info says different

    If it is a recent extension (in past year) the sound insulation should be better in the extension. If your existing house has lathe & plaster ceilings this is normally more dense than current plasterboards and hence reduces sound transmission
