anyone else think i might need a new cold water tank?

lol yeah i have no idea why they put that up there! I think its only a 25gallon tank. How complicated is it to replace with a 50gal or larger? The tanks are on screwfix and the like so getting one is easy enough, and thats small enough to go down the loft hatch without meeting an angle...

anyone else think i might need a new cold water tank?

Managed to get into the loft for the first time today of our first house (only had keys 2 days!). I was expecting some great vat of water but instead found this rusting old thing! Glad we overbudgeted for the rest of the work so I have some left for a new tank now.

    Broadband tax

I think there are plenty of people paying 30 quid a month for cable or a BB conection that would argue why not take the 50p a month out of that! The problem is that some area are VERY well served while others have next to nothing. Virgin are testing 200Mbs in a couple of select areas while my...

How wrong is this outside wiring?

I'm just hoping the ring is on 2.5mm and not 1.5mm, at least then that can be extended to inorporate other stray sockets. I was going to get a new radial run for the shower and get it off the same circuit as the tumble anyway but you are reading my mind about the rewire. Not been able to see...

How wrong is this outside wiring?

Just bought a new house and found that the brick shed/outhouse has power going into it. However the cable isnt buried in the ground but instead comes out of the cupboard under the stairs where the CU is, heads outside, along the wall to the corner, then up the wall about 4ft (the ground floor is...

Oven chain or Stability Bracket question

The oven is going to be installed where a current doorway is and i'd just like to check that the chain/stability bracket needs to go into a brick wall and CANNOT go into a stud wall. The floor is concrete.

    Underlay, cloud 9 etc...

if i recall correctly (i am looking to get cloud 9 also) you dont want the thickest stuff in the living room. while it'll feel soft the carpet will wear faster because it moves more. I'll probably be going for the medium in the livingroom/hall/stairs/landing and then the thick stuff for the...
