12.5mm Plasterboard and 12mm Hardiebacker on same wall (bathroom)?....

hardie isn't waterproof. It just doesn't degrade when wet. Tank it. Id choose waterproof over water resistant in a shower every time.

    DPC AND RENDERING

If they've rendered over the DPC they've bridged it and it's now ineffective. The (presumably injected) DPC should be visible underneath the stop/bell bead which should be 150mm above the ground.

Mist coat on new plaster ?

Nothing wrong with giving it a light going over with a bit of 120 grit prior to your mist. Mist with either a watered down contract matt (not vinyl). Alternatively Screwfix's 'paint for new plaster' is decent stuff...

    Outdoor porcelain

Make sure the concrete is sufficiently cured before laying any tiles. For porcelain you want to use a flexible cement based powdered adhesive. 10mm notched trowel and back butter the tiles. Colour of adhesive is irrelevant. Personally I'd prime the concrete first using either diluted SBR or...

Insulating brick wall in bathroom for tiling...

Just dab insulated boards throughout, no need for batons. In the shower/wet area tank the boards. http://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-shower-waterproofing-kit/78484?_requestid=210153

    Tiling in Basement

Brickwork is not really a surface you want to tile onto directly. You could apply a tanking slurry or liquid DPM and then dab plasterboard on and tile onto that. Alternatively have it rendered with sand and cement with a waterproofer in prior to tiling.

12.5mm Plasterboard and 12mm Hardiebacker on same wall (bathroom)?....

Personally I wouldn't bother with hardi. Just regular plasterboard and tank the wet area. You want waterproof not water resistant. http://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-shower-waterproofing-kit/78484?_requestid=210153

Ceramic floor tiles direct on floorboards...

No tiler worth his salt with tile directly onto floorboards. The floor should have been overboarded with 'no more ply' cement boards glued and screwed. The tiles then need to be laid using a quality cement based flexible adhesive. Tiles should also be back buttered. Regarding the underfloor...

How to make/buy dot and dab materials

I can't get along with the foam, no control. Go for bagged drywall adhesive. http://www.wickes.co.uk/Knauf-Gypsum-Based-Plasterboard-Adhesive-25kg/p/141933

    Plasterboard in bathroom

Regular plasterboard is just fine in a bathroom. Tank any wet areas using a Mapei kit. http://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-shower-waterproofing-kit/78484 MR plasterboard is just that, moisture resistant. Not waterproof. Same goes for cement boards. They are not waterproof, they just don't degrade...
