found the rating now 16amp ample for what i need

not bought them yet just been looking at them on the net, want to use them to connect power from room to room but because of their design i will be able to pull them through the downlighter holes aswell with problem and without damaging cables and eleminate acesssibility problems

anyone what these junction boxes are rated 2? cant find what they r rated 2 on the website, want 2 use them 2 loop in and out of downlighters and then loop power 2 next room 2 take away the accesibility problem

all lighting downstairs are downlighters and i can only run 1 cable through trunking 2 each switch

i will be making records of locations of all junction boxes my worry is that when it is all finished and i come 2 get the work signed off i will be told that jjunction boxes are not good enough and the work wont be signed off

noticed today when wiring in lighting circuit that i only have 1 ring main, is this a problem, is there a test i can do 2 check that the ring is ok, what values will i be looking for?

is there a max number of spurs you can have on aring main?

i use a junior hacksaw on the swa just cut all the way round bout half way through the swa, cut back outer sheath and then just bend wires back and they will snap off neatly

yes going to pull the fuses for lighting circuit and make sure every light and switch is dead then disconnect tails for lighting circuit at the cu and go from there. thanks 4 ur help Nick

this is what i plan 2 do but some cables run into floor boards i cant get too i.e under bathroom floor which has already been tiled so i plan 2 cut back and leave these cables in the wall and run in new cables different way thanks

right decided too re-wire, is it frowned upon not too pull the old cables out i was thinking of just cutting them bk and picking my own routes 4 the new cables?

i will test out the earth but as you say not good practice to share earths so will prob not opt too do that, will have 2 bite the bullet and re-wire or just fit class 2 fittings everywhere. thanks for your help

hi currently renovating house the lighting circuit has no cpc except in the extension would it be ok for me too connect the cpc's from the extension to all lights and switches in the rest of the house as i really dont want 2 go the rewire route it would cause a lot of disruption at this stage...
