    No padstones required?

I did call back about the two steels option as that's how I originally thought it would have been done, however he said he could design a 3 piece spliced steel that could be bolted but he wanted paying again for it! ! So I didn't bother. But now I have a 350kg steel to lift and place in with...

    No padstones required?

The double skin of brick including the cavity measure 290 inside to out so the 203 would be short either side but with 254 you are closer each side of that makes sense. And the steel was based on the calcs provided from online structural calcs working from my drawings, these are fed into a...

    No padstones required?

The beam is supporting the first floor and roof at back of house, the original design was a 203x203x36 I think, will check in a moment. The bco said he wanted me to go a size up as 203 will leave to much brick on either side and best to go a size up which the next is 254 hence why that size and...

Regs for room without a window?

We bought the house with the extension shell competed and just ready to first fix. The previous owner had bricked up window and the plans show the intended knockthrough, but we have decided we don't want to go with the plan on that of the build and to just keep it as storage, is this ok?

Regs for room without a window?

Ok so if I put rails up and shelves etc for storage then when the bco comes round to sign off there won't be a problem with this at all and I just simply say its a store room?

Regs for room without a window?

5 bedroom house originally configured as 3. The original plan was to knock through the front bedroom existing into the new one. The existing had a window at the front which has been taken out and filled in now. We have decided not to knock through and just use the existing room as a general...

    Bathroom tv help

Because they are all outputs, not inputs. Simply put the tv leads are all like plugs and they need to go into a socket just like a plug goes into a wall socket. So there aren't any holes in the tv unit to plug IN to? I can only believe what is in from of my eyes and the leads built into the...

    Bathroom tv help

Haha!! Sorry damn auto complete on iphone, but you know what I meant! To keep things simple here, its a bathroom tv and the connector on the unit for the you would expect to plug in an external aerial is a rf out so I can't plug the aerial into the tv as there is nothing to plug into.

Just got a bathroom tv and maybe being really daft here but plugged in switched on and now looking at the wires hanging out the bottom. Hdmi/USB etc etc and a cable labeled rf in, yet the connector itself is an rf out? How the hell do I connect a tv Ariel to it if the connector on the tv is...

Hi Graeme, I think you are right on the old English dark red, hadn't seen the sandtoft range, would you say the rustic is a near match in terms of colour? Looking through some images of them on the web and looking promising

    Name my roof tiles?

From my reading on the marley site it's says mendip as low as 15 (smooth is what we require) question is really how similar do they look to the Romans and is the colour match on the Redlands vs marley Romans way out? Have ruled out the marley Romans now then as they are min of 22.5 and we only...
