    Bathroom mirror and toothbrush charger

Thank you for confirming Great point about the basin, my mirror came with instructions that indicated 60cm diameter from the basin tap as zone 3 but I didn’t think this was aligned with regs. Then watched a YouTube from JW (excellent videos) who explained that this confusion came form lighting...

    Bathroom mirror and toothbrush charger

hi Loft is above An existing extractor is already in place, supplied by the lighting circuit above. Interestingly it does not have an isolation switch. You raise a good point thou, should I put a isolation switch on this? If yes, can I put this in the bathroom high up above the mirror too?

    Bathroom mirror and toothbrush charger

This could be my solution. Do these types of mirrors go faulty often ? Or is the likeliness as much as most things on the lighting circuit therefore no point just isolating this one unit.

    Bathroom mirror and toothbrush charger

hi thanks Sorry I should have been clearer. The dual toothbrush charger is one combined unit and only requires one feed so yes one FSU for the one unit which powers/holds two toothbrushes. my preference would be for any FSU to be in the bathroom if allowable and practical. It will reduce...

    Bathroom mirror and toothbrush charger

Hi From the ring circuit it would be fed from below all the way up to a high position on the wall to an FSU and back down to the mirror / toothbrush holder. From the light circuit will be from above a very short distance to the FSU and then further down into the mirror/toothbrush holder...

    Bathroom mirror and toothbrush charger

Hi: Currently renovating my bathroom. Question about options for connecting up a mirror and toothbrush charger. I have a mirror with an integrated light and defogger. I was also going to implement a razor socket but realised the only reason we need it is to charge our electric toothbrushes so...

    Gravity fed sink pressure scenario

So I got into this properly over the weekend and oh man was it hard work! But I'm satisfied with the progress so far and no leaks! Took the very good advice, found and left alone the feed from the water tank which feeds the hot water cylinder. I tapped a new outlet from the cold water tank as...

    Gravity fed sink pressure scenario

Hi The existing 15mm to the existing pump to the main bathroom is good pressure. I guess I’m lucky that the 15mm seems just about ok. yes the existing pump takes a feed round the back on a secondary tapping which is on the side and a few inches below the top. Annoying it’s around the back but I...

    Gravity fed sink pressure scenario

Thanks OK, they didn't suggest tests (I wish I knew to ask for it back then) but was put off somewhat by the cost and more so by the fact we can't seem to get anyone reputable to give firm timeline for availability. So I made the decision to go ahead with keeping gravity fed and DIY it. Now...

    Gravity fed sink pressure scenario

HW cylinder is about 250ltrs (label in tank is unreadable but I did a simple diameter and height measurement excluding the insulation) Cold water tank is 227ltr (found the label on this one!) So what I do know is that the property previously had a extra bathroom when we moved in but it was...

    Gravity fed sink pressure scenario

Thanks again, manual sounds like a good option as whenever we have had the issue has only been when we drain and refill the system, but never once it's all running so doing a manual bleed on refill (which is rare occurrence anyway) is very ok! I should go and measure it as I don't know off...

15mm feed to 1 inch shower valve (and related questions)

Thank you @Madrab @gasbanni Thank you - no offence taken, you are right I don't know about these shower fittings and pressure calculations but having done a fair amount of DIY central heating, soldering joints, installing new radiators and fitting sinks etc I wanted to learn how to install...

15mm feed to 1 inch shower valve (and related questions)

Oh no! So i've made the silly mistake of already carving out the wall and chasing for pipes for these valves before finding this out! :( to make things worse it was a particularly thin wall and took me ages to get it all right without compromising the overall integrity of the wall. I didn't have...

    Gravity fed sink pressure scenario

This was actually a problems before, if the system was every drained, getting back up and flowing was almost impossible. Any way of fixing this? a component that would allow the air out on refill perhaps?

Hi - yes existing bathroom taps are a mixer and pressure is v good.
