just do the boards and forget the tape the plasterer will sort it out and you wont save yourself a single penny doing the taping and filling but may cost the plasterer more time.

scrape off the loose and get a tub off high build apply with a trowel and get the roller on it to give it a stipple effect :wink:

you cant dab onto ceilings incase the obvious happens which will, batten it out using packings to straighten it out and just screw it then skim, bit messy so if you can just tape the joints it will be easier.

Cheers softus, building control will be involved from the start so i will mention this, MW im doing the loft from scratch not just skimming it so what type of guarantee would you expect? Does anyone use or have dealings with insurance backed guarantees?
