Cool, thanks - found lockshield valves at my local Wickes, only £3.49... however, what's a lockshield valve and how does it work? Is it any different to normal rad valves which, I guess I'd just turn down to reduce the pressure.

I need to install a radiator in a small new room I've partitioned off. The new rad will only be about 1m from the actual boiler itself. (Worcester 24cdi) I'm worried that if I tap the 22mm pipes coming from the boiler to connect the new rad, then it'll create a 'short circuit' in the water...

yeah, I considered that. I've only got 230mm from the top lip of the access to the centre of where I need to enter the wall. The lip of the brown acess socket where it comes out of the ground is actually TOUCHING the wall. Is this normal? Andy
