    Grandson's Sun Flower Challenge

I grow sun flowers every summer with my lil girl, last summer we had a 7ft monster! I normally start off in a pot and keep it on a sunny window cill for as long as possible, then plant in a sunny place in the garden. When they get so big, I find supporting them a problem as canes only come in...

Thanks for the replies guys, sorry I've been slow to reply. The other side of the wall is in next doors garden, I'll look over the fence and see what...

overboard floorboards with ply before carpet - questions!

When I've done this, I used 3mm hardboard, not ply wood. I just payed it on the floor, upto the the skirting and screwed it down, the gaffer taped all the joints, I went right upto the door, we also had a new door fitted so the extra 3mm on the floor didn't really matter

    Improving soil before seeding

I'm no garden expert but I'd say it's not needed, but you might get better results if you do. Personally I do myself, spread a bag of compost around and fork it in, I even put some volcanic rock dust in this year, suppose to be good stuff, I'll find out soon.

    Mouse or Rat

Get rid of them, put some traps down. If it's not a problem now they will be soon when the breed. Rats and mice are nocturnal and aren't normally seen during the day, unless there is a big population. The dominant animals will feed during the night and the animals further down the ladder during...

I bought a cheap aerator from eBay in the summer, it was abit if a pain to use, you have to keep down-wards pressure on it while pushing it forwards. Anyway used it a few days then spread a few hand fulls on sand around the garden, the sand is suppose to stop the clay sticking back together...
