    try your local branch of eurocell or roplas for over boards they stock a 3mm fascia board which is thin enough to fit on top of the existing cill and underneath the front edge of the frame thus not interfering with drainage channels ive used them in past and do work and not expensive

    if its the slave door in a set of French doors then you have to take the mullion off which is the vertical bar which is screwed to the slave door you should see some screws holding it on then cylinder access will be underneath
