    Extension Wall Concern

I live in an 1885 house and had some landscapers round to do the patio. When levelling the patio, they said that they could see there has been some movement in the brickwork at some point (not sure when?). This is on the 2 storey extended part of the house, again unsure if this was part of the...

    Grout issue - advice needed

Yeah I understand what you're saying. It's just it's in the shower and gets wet everyday. I guess an epoxy grout would have been more appropriate. Just don't want it to be causing damage

    Grout issue - advice needed

Hiya, that's just with water and a bristle scrubbing brush. I did use a black mould cleaner previously just for the odd tiny spot and I think that may have been too harsh a cleaner. Unsure what grout has been used as it was the previous owners who did it. it's been like this for 5 years, I'm...

    Grout issue - advice needed

Hi all, The grout in the shower and bathroom is light grey and darkens when wet. If scrubbed the colour runs slightly and I am unsure if this is the grout coming out. The bathroom was remodelled about 5/6 years ago by the previous owners. All of the tiles seem secure and don't seem to be...

    White dust/particles on roof timbers

Yeah it is a rafter. That picture was just to get confirmation it was a woodlouse. Seems I may be worrying over nothing. The beam is very sturdy regardless of the crack and I will self-treat the patches of white mould as you suggested earlier. Just worked myself into a panic it seems

    White dust/particles on roof timbers

I also noticed one cracked beam and it had 4 dead bugs inside. They look like woodlice. Can anyone confirm? Should I be worried about the crack? I cut away some of the outer wood and all the wood on the inside seems strong. Maybe just some outside bugs residing in the crack?

    White dust/particles on roof timbers

Thank you, I was unsure if efflorescence could be present on wood and just wanted to be sure it wasn't a type of rot or bug presence

    White dust/particles on roof timbers

Hi, First time posting. I have noticed some white dust in some areas on the roof beams in the loft. I am unsure what is the cause and am looking for some advice. There is no evidence of bore holes in the timber and all the timber seems sturdy. Hoping it is just dust or dead bugs etc. Any help...
