Its called a Sparten tank and Freeflow has the correct answer for you. Many are starting to leak now and a second header tank need to be put in the loft for central heating. Remember No chemicals in the system either.

With only 13lpm on the cold mains............not an idea really! If your mainly shower people a 28kw combi will suffice......if that bath is going to be filled regually then a conventional storage tank and cyclinder would be the best option IMO. You can then put a pump on for the shower.

And on these keep the silicone grease locked away in the tool box.

I would suggest not forgetting about the two extra wires..........you proberbly have a motor open/moter close valve somewhere expecting power from those forgotton wires!!! Make sure the new stat has a satisfied terminal that switches (some dont). You can however forget the neutral.
