Yes. It is possible................
It's all explained in the Installation Instructions
But why do you want to disable it? I have been using one for over two years with optimization turned on and wouldn't be without it.
Early model CM67NGs with optimuum start enabled do some funny things.
We used to have a written directive to our installers to turn OS off on these models due to the strange behavior, as said, 3hrs early heating on was common. We had a rash of complaints around 2005 from confused householders.
This was cured on later versions of CM67 but I can see why you'd want to turn it off!
