Brown rust blockage in copper pipe? (see pics)

This is so similar to mine. Hot upstairs and cold downstairs (although I do have thermostat and valve on hot cylinder. I've been losing my radiators gradually. Early last week I had all cold downstairs. After reading advice on this forum I spent Thursday evening working my way round all...

    CH Pump Performance (or failing)

Had another poke around today and spent most of the day emptying and cleaning the supply tank in the loft. I was thinking that any crud that got in to the system would cause a blockage and slow down the pump. Having now fired up the system it's even worse. Now I have all the down stairs...

Selecting new Combi Condensing Boiler (with Storage!)

I'm now thinking the 'Valiant ecoTEC Plus 937 Power Store' would be a good solution for my small Airing Cupboard. I'm hoping some heat leaks from it to warm the cupboard. But does any body else do a combi with a small water store? Or can you put a store in to a system (preferably with an...

What System for a Small Cupboard

Heh. Guess what. The Albion Slimcyl HE 210 looks to be the same cylinder as well. So who actually makes it?

What System for a Small Cupboard

Simond. I'm not getting any response from RCM Copperform. There Technical email address bounced (but Sales went through). I really want to know that the dimension quoted includes the foam. I downloaded a pdf file and it looks identical to the Tribune Slimline. Tribune however, don't list one...

What System for a Small Cupboard

I have a 1/2 inch water supply and the gas pipe seems to be 3/4 inch. Does that constrain the choice (either Stored Water or Combi). The Heatbank system would be nice if it fitted. Any alternatives? (DD forgot the original point about the access)

What System for a Small Cupboard

Superb Simond. Found it straight away. Ultrasteel HE Slim. It quotes 478mm in steel casing and 428mm in foam casing. I'd prefer a steel casing but looks like I'll have to compromise. So it's starting to look like a standard boiler and this slimline unless anybody has other thoughts?

What System for a Small Cupboard

So. It's a Valiant if I go Combi. (it was the opinionated one that took it down that route) The wife still wants a hot water store. Are there any systems like the Tribune (which is 478mm) which will go through the 450mm door? Terrywookfit said specials are available to order. How do I get them?

What System for a Small Cupboard

Heatingman/Gas4you Found it! You have to go in as an Installer not Homeowner. Do they really think we don't need the basic information. Doesn't make me warm to them. However, a Storage Combi would get my wife off my back - "I don't want one of those Ascots". 440mm on the shortest...

What System for a Small Cupboard

Heatingman/Gas4you.. I've scoured the Valiant site and can't find any dimensions. Do they hide them?

What System for a Small Cupboard

Doctor Drivel has got hold of this one. Can we get back to normal with considered advice (or do you all ignore him) HeatingMan - I've had a look at the Greenstar and it looks well thought out. I also like the site with plenty of advice. So it's on my list. Gas4you - I'm off to look at the...

Yes. I did notice. All opinions and no supporting evidence.

What System for a Small Cupboard

Well I've had a look at the Ethos. Can it really provide water at enough pressure to power a shower. I'm afraid I've been influenced by my daughters flat that dribbles luke warm water at the taps. The owner says the flow has been set low to allow the combi to get some temperature. I think he's...

What System for a Small Cupboard

The smallest cylinder I've found so far is this at 478mm. 28mm too big! http://www.discountedheating.co.uk/shop/acatalog/Range_Tribune_Slimline_Indirect_Cylinders.html

What System for a Small Cupboard

I want to put everything in my airing cupboard. It's 1200mm deep but the door in is only 450mm wide. Once in the cupboard is 570mm wall to wall (and normal celing height). It only has the Cylinder in there at the moment (and pump pipes valves and wiring). The boiler is in the kitchen directly...

    CH Pump Performance (or failing)

Can I run the the system with the bypass off? With it open about 1/2 a turn the flow nearly stops to the radiators. I can't think what else I can do to improve things.

    CH Pump Performance (or failing)

Having now studied the pump action over an evening from cold (in the radiators) I can see that the flow is very slow. The pump is on it's fastest setting but it takes about 35 minutes for the cold return pipe to start to have any warmth (on each radiator). During this, the boiler is only coming...

    CH Pump Performance (or failing)

Good point. maybe the lounge has always been that way. I had to replace the original because it had a pin hole leak from the top. It was bent around the bay window. The new is shorter but double. The pipework is 3/4 inch for the first metre before splitting to 1/2 inch Tee for front and rear...

    CH Pump Performance (or failing)

The Boiler is a Potterton Kingfisher MF 40-100. It has recently been serviced (about 10 Months) and it is not on very often. The pipes from and to it are almost the same temperature (very hot). There isn't an adjusting valve on the hot water circuit (just the Honeywell). I'm sitting here this...
