I have been reading that the old way of loop in out of roses is no longer used for new installs ,loop in and out at switch is now used for new installs.Why is this surely it is more of a pain and not much room for cables behind switches.

I was looking under my floorboards and noticed a junction box which is on a radial circuit. In the junction box is a 2.5 cable and then a 6mm running to the socket, the 2.5mm cable is about 5 meters and the 6mm about the same.Is there a problem in having two different size cables on the one...

Question on voltage drop and cable size, if your cable run exceeds the allowed length you would use a larger size cable is this correct ,for example on a lighting circuit using a 6 amp fuse or mcb what is the max size cable you could use using the same 6 amp fuse or mcb to overcome the volt...

I have been looking for a good circuit tester and continuity tester , i am looking at the fluket50, kewtech1700 and the dilog6780,do any of you guys have one of these and which one would you recommend ,are they reliable.

Thanks i will be testing on live cable so will set it to ac voltage above the range,so as spark 123 states it does not matter what way the probes go on the cables is this correct?
