    Bosch dishwasher (flow sensor E14)

Hi I've a dishwasher I've had for 4 yrs and only use it about once per month. Came to use it yesterday and it stopped working and had an error code of E14. Googled this to find it was the flow sensor Reed. I took out the apparent faulty device, but cant see any issue with it. Any advice please.

    Unvented cylinder system (2)

Hi My nieghbour has had a problem with his boiler over heating, an engineer has been to try and sort it out, and has concluded it's his unvented tank. I'm not an expert, but how many things can go wrong with this type of tank? My understand ( practical not experience) tells there are only the...

Cost to fit new Radiator only

Hi My neighbour had a leaking radiator, which I've now removed and isolated. The problem is the rad was imperial size and the new one is metric, plus new TR valve and lock shield fitting to rad are smaller than the old ones. How much should it cost to fit the new rad and adjust the pipe work...

    Trespass issue with neighbour's extension

Hi I had a similar issue ago my parents house, the neighbour built an extension which was slightly different to the plans, and was initially passed by the building inspector, but when we complained they were forced to take the building down, as it overhang by 30cm and they refused to render the...

    Extension cost

There haven't been any plans drawn up yet, so that's my concern. I've not spoken to any if the builders as I don't live close to my daughters place, but such a variance is questionable. I know bi folding doors are expensive but a friend has one fitted which was a 5 door and this cost £5k. So...

    Extension cost

Thanks for your feedback, I agree it's difficult without seeing what's to be done, but after having 3 quotes there seems such a variance from top to bottom. Each builder is from a reputable company apparently!!

    Extension cost

My daughter just bought a house that she wants to extend on the back of. It's basically knock down the small extension that's there now and built the full width of the back of the house , 5.5 x 3m single story with a rsj supporting the external back wall of the house with a flat roof. I realise...

Hi I've had a plumber (so called G3 registered) come to service my invented tank, cost me £80.00 I The problem I had was, every time I turn the hot water tap on, I get a noise from the tank area. The guy came and all he did was check the expansion tank to make sure it was 3 bar, which I'd...

    Damp proofing

Hi I dont have a copy of my daughters house report, and they are currently away. Regarding the question you asked. The bedroom wall adjacent (right hand side only) to the chimney breast was very wet. The fireplace chimney breast was wet, and both these areas the plaster just fell off the wall...

    Unvented System hammering noise

Hi I did open a thread regarding my problem but cant locate this now? I've had a problem when I turn the hot water on I get a noise from the tank area, from previous threads it was suggested it might be the pressure release valve, and the mesh might need clearing. I had already checked the...

    Damp proofing

Hi thank you for your help. The was a complete independent survey carried out prior to the purchase. I have just read this again. It does state there are signs of damp down stairs on the external walls and internal walls in the one bedroom (where the chimneys have now been removed). This wall...

    Choosing a new intruder alarm

Thanks for the info I'd like to not have door contacts, and only use PIR's. I assume you can configure for PIR'S only with zone one being the timed entry/exit zone I guess it's very similar to my own G3. I dont want something that is too complex to operate for my daughter, but obviously I want...

    Damp proofing

Yes there was, that's been sealed and sorted now, the whole upstairs wall was very wet, causing the plaster to fall off. That's where I think the whole issue of damp was caming from.
