Hi my cousin has a cheap cameras with a built in pir which connects to the scart input of his tv. When ever someone triggers the pir the images auautomatically flags up on the tv. Im wondering how I would achieve this with a more traditional setup? I have an eyeball camera and a samsung dvr.

You've suggest your having an issue with your "ADT fire alarm". Are sure you don't mean a "smoke detector". Is it connected to an Intruder alarm system? Is it wired or wireless? If it was only installed recently surely your covered by warranty. Post some photos of the equipment if possible

The bell may not sound for that long with the power removed. I depends of the age of the battery. You have to get up to the bell and disconnect the internal battery if your decommissioning the alarm system .

The strobe on an external bell isn't supposed to act as a deterrent. Its there to provide a visual indication as to which alarms is going off

I would imagine your standby battery is flat, if you've switched off the mains and the keypad is off. Just leave it off if you don't have the code and you never use it. You could get an alarm engineer to default/ set up new codes and replace the battery Or you could try defaulting the codes...

Rigth im assuming the alarm is currently powered down? If you want to prove your if the panel works, just power it up on the mains. The battery isn't required to power up the system. And test if the defaults codes work before you go any further.
