repairing water pipe with flexi hose

yeh the repair coupling slips over the pipe so as long as you can pull the pipe down to get it over, you don't need any give in the pipe from left to right

    57 Dispatch 2.0HDi L2H1 - Side Door not unlocking

Hi all, As above, the n/s door won't unlock. It unlocked recently for a few days, now its refusing. I can pull at the interior handle, but this doesn't unlock it, and I can't see a lock catch to pull at as an interim method of opening it. It's still under warranty, so I suppose I want...

    "Surging" pressure to toilets?

Hi all, went to look at some pub toilets today, landlord reporting irratic supply to cisterns and cold taps. Checked CWSC on roof, which was full and ball valve working fine. Looked at one of the float valves on the toilets, and as one was filling you could see/hear the water surging (high...

    Pinhole leak, very awkward place!

Hi all, Looked at a leak today, on 22mm running in a basement (in a pub). The pipe runs along the ceiling (which is actually the ply subfloor for the room above). It runs through several notched joists and is tight u against the ply. The leak is of course on the top of the pipe. Taking the...

    Alternative to Skirting Tiles

Hi all, I do a lot of maintanance in pub kitchens, and I sometimes have to replace damaged skirting tiles (the old quarry tiles that have a curved bottom). The job I have at the moment - I need to replace 2 x skirting tiles and a "corner" skirting tile. In the absence of new skirting tiles...

Washers that don't fit and toilets with strange holes!

In my neverending pursuit of knowledge, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on these 2 circumstances that vexxed me this week: 1) why do half inch fibre washers sometimes refuse to fit onto the seating of tap connectors? - I changed a ballvalve on a CWSC this week and thought I'd...

    Need a new sat nav

Hi all, Currently using my phone's built in satnav, and it's getting tedious. Is there a unit out there that does SatNav AND camera detection (with user updates for mobile sites etc) ? Integrated multimedia (via SD card) wouldn't be too bad either!! Cheers :)

How do you fit a flush pipe connector

Mark and cut the flush pipe so that it will fit in the pan and syphon (making sure you allow enough pipe so it sits all the way in the pan and all the way up the syphon thread). I find it easier just to push the pipe all the way into the pan first, then untighten the cistern screws so you...
