Rules on wood fire on suspended floor

Hi Relatives have moved into a house with suspended floors. They used to have a wood fire in their old living room. Is it possible to have a fire like this put in a room with a suspended floor? I have googled this and I can't find anything. I assume it would need a hearth putting in?

Should i replace outside underground copper water pipe?

Hiya! We are looking at having our drive redone in the spring, (tarmac) and our water supply runs under the drive, last year we replaced the pipe that went into the house to just outside the house with MDPE pipe The pipe that runs in the soil is copper, with a new boundary box put in by ST, so...

Poor Pressure on Allotment water supply

Well that was a success, found it was 15 mm copper, all connected up, very tight round boundary box, but no leaks!, and we now have great pressure and all taps work well, Feel chuffed it all worked , used ducting instead of peace gravel to protect pipe

Which stone for backfill behind sleepers

I have quite a lot of fill to out behind a retaining wall made of sleepers below the soil layer. I am loathed to use recycled hard core and am thinking road stone. It's going to be in the region of 10 tonnes of material. Would road stone be best ? Or should I look at something else? Also am I...

Poor Pressure on Allotment water supply

Thanks everyone. Not sure if I mentioned this already but you can't have two taps on at once. If you do water won't come out of one of the taps. Does this make any difference ......

Poor Pressure on Allotment water supply

We don't have good flow or pressure really on our taps. The one nearest the meter (and the boundary box) is rubbish. You turn it on and get good pressure etc for about 10 seconds.then it goes to a stutter n runs slow. Turn it back on 5 minutes later and the pressure is still rubbish with no...

Poor Pressure on Allotment water supply

The meter is about 10 meters down Hill from our boundary box. They say as its our property it's for us to resolve

Poor Pressure on Allotment water supply

He said he couldnt do that at the meter as its on our land, We are limited to what we can do as we have a very limited budget. It easy to say do tests but these tests cost money which we dont have a lot of. I hear what your saying about replacing things blindly, but to get a plumbert to come...

Poor Pressure on Allotment water supply

Severn Trent did a pressure at the BB and said the pressure etc was very good, so we are going to replace our own internal stop cock next in case any problems with this, it really us quite baffling

Poor Pressure on Allotment water supply

Thanks, I know pressure and flow are not the same, the engineer that came out today was just to replace the meter itself, I am thinking the only thing to do now is replace the pipe between the boundary box and the meter, with a bigger pipe (i think 25mm , pretty sure its copper there)
