    Insulating an existing concrete floor.

I don't have hardly any on 2 of the 5 thresholds into the sunroom. The others would take at least the 4mm foam and a 6mm ply covering. This would still allow me to fit a quality 10mm insulating carpet underlay. Perhaps I could make sloping thresholds between the two levels on the 2 tight...

    Insulating an existing concrete floor.

Concerned that the PU foam could be flattened easily, what about putting layer of 4mm or 6mm ply over the top and then insulating carpet underlay on top? Think this would be the only solution considering I don't have much height to play with to the adjoining floor levels.

    Insulating an existing concrete floor.

Would this be a better insulator than 4mm PU foam Multifoil?

    Insulating an existing concrete floor.

Yes, due to limited floor heights I think this is going to be my only option.

    Insulating an existing concrete floor.

We have a sunroom which was built many years ago with a solid concrete floor and no insulation. We've always had carpet laid but as it needs renewing I was hoping that there is a product which could provide a cold barrier between the concrete and carpet underlay. I know it's a long shot but...

    Are there Sonoff users here?

So you have an R2 on each of the motorised valves and a room temp sensor which switches them on and off. How do they communicate? Via a Z hub/gateway? I’m not smart system technology savvy but what is Tasmota?

    Are there Sonoff users here?

Are you controlling a UFH system? But I guess it’s the same whether it’s UFH or conventional radiators. What Sonoff products are you using?

    Are there Sonoff users here?

Sonoff say their external temperature sensor will control the TRV via a gateway. I assume this must be their NS control panel device. Tapo Kasa also advertise the same ability.

    Are there Sonoff users here?

No, I don’t have any existing smart devices so no experience with App controls. I did scour the internet for suitable devices and read up on those you mention. Tado is too expensive at £76 a TRV, Evohome again expensive and in my mind is outdated. TP-Link is around the same price so could also...

    Are there Sonoff users here?

I'd like to make my central heating smart. Tried Wiser last year but after spending about two weeks talking to their Tech Support trying to get it set up I gave up and returned. The guy eventually admitted there there are some issues with their software/firmware with IoS devices. I've now come...

    Which wet porcelain cutter?

I've got about 40sq mtrs of 20mm porcelain slabs to lay. What are your recommendations for the cheapest one that will do the job. Richard

Smart TRV that works with Heatmiser neohub

I've now worked out the the rads are split into two zones, upstairs and down. The zone valves are controlled by a Heatmiser Wifi neoStats on each floor via the main Heatmister control wiring centre. Which means I'm stuck with the existing system unless I rewire the zone valves to another smart...

Smart TRV that works with Heatmiser neohub

Having the same problem. UFH in our new extension but radiators in the original house. Anyone found a solution

    Considering fitting Wiser

So there’s no ‘boost all’ function on the app then?

    Considering fitting Wiser

Our current system consists of TRV's on all rads controlled by a wireless Drayton thermostat programmable controller. We use it in manual mode and only use programmed times when it looks like it's going to be extremely cold over night then we might switch to programmed. I've been looking at the...

Smart controller for large heating system

A lot of info to digest guys, thanks. The pipes to make the 3 or 4 zones are readily accessible together with mains electric close by. I was thinking about a Smart Plug on each, but can't see a way of linking it to the boiler when heat is required. Totting the costs up and it looks like its...

Smart controller for large heating system

We have 17 radiators spread over three floors in our house, so to use something like Wiser TRVs is prohibitive. However, it is possible to divide the system up into 4 heat zones using 2 port valves (or is there a better solution?) controlled say through Wiser smart plugs and then use a...

    Insulated underlay for LVT

I had considered this but I can't print what my wife thought about it. The ground floor is virtually open plan with lounge, kitchen and utility all leading off this family room. Plus access to the back garden is via the utility room.
