    Toilet flush lever.

Just a quick question, are these a standard size? Ours has managed to cross thread itself so when you flush it, it just starts flapping about. Assuming they are a standard size, will somewhere like B&Q sell them (just the levery part and the thing it screws into)?

In the end we went for the Ariston. Fairly impressed with it so far, had it for about 2 months. Particulally like it's "comfort" feature where it stores hot water ready for when it's needed, great for running a bath at full speed instead of having to turn on the tap a piddly bit like with the...

    Hotpoint WD63 Door lock

My hotpoint WD63 decided to stop working, was a bit bored so decided to start taking it apart, anyway rather foolishy I removed the two screws on the white plastic where the door catch goes into. It seems that whatever was behind the screws has dropped down into the machine, so now I'm left...

    Boiler opinions

Oh trust me, no way I'd live in a modern house, the creaks they make and the wafer thin plasterboard walls would drive me mad. The house was an old couples and after they died it stood empty for a good few years. Like lots of old peoples houses, nothing had been spend on it so pretty much...

    Boiler opinions

All the pipework / electrics / decoration was put in from scratch in 1998 and one would expect it to be fine. The bloke who quoted for Vaillant never even looked at the pipework extensivly, he put the "disruption" down to the difference in condenser boilers. That said, maybe some more...

Thanks for the replies. We actually phoned Ariston to get someone they recommend to look at the existing boiler having had a "cowboy" look at it previously who caused it start leaking and the heat excheanger is on it's way out apparently (not sure if thats expensive to replace?). Thought it...

Thanks for the replies. The Arison in question does have a 5 year gaurentee, which is nice. Although if it's anything like the one it's going to replace, it will die after 7 or 8 years anyway, although that could have been our fault, it wasn't serviced anything like as often as it should have...

    terrible boiler noise

Was thinking about getting on to trading standards, my old man arranged him so will have to check out his details re the corgi stuff, but I think he is registered. I seem to recall it did it now and again last year (cut out) but nowhere near as frequently as it does this year, every times...

    terrible boiler noise

I am having a similar problem, our eurocombi has started to make kettle boiling type sounds when the thermostat is on full, but then soon after it cuts out (little switch on the bottom pops out). Had a proper gas man out he did something and said it was fixed but a week or so later it was...
